gives students the flexibility to fit their learning into their schedule w

Richmond Virtual School is a public high school that is open to all learners. Students w
ho are permanent residents of
British Columbia and under the age of 19 can take one or m
ore courses free of charge. Most of our courses are also free
of charge for adults who are perm
anent residents. Please contact us for information on specific course fees. There is a
fee of $1200.00 for students who are not a perm
anent resident of B. C.

Many students do not see the relevance in the m
aterial they are learning. The SKY program
for grades 11 and 12 allow
s students to focus on what interests them
while
still meeting the learning outcom
es for the courses they need for post-secondary education.
The SKY program uses Personalized Learning to
provide students with the opportunity to pursue their
interests through meaningful m
ajor projects and internships. Students are given the opportunity to connect w
ith professionals around their interest of study. SKY uses a blended approach of classroom
m
eetings, project work and online self-directed learning
with m
odern technology.

SFU’s Beedie School of Business has announced a unique agreement with Youth Entrepreneurship Leadership Launchpad (YELL) to
explore a pilot scheme to give high-school students who com
plete the YELL entrepreneurship program university course credit at the school.
Course Options
Knowing the demands placed on student dancers, the Richmond Virtual School has started an online high school credit program for any dancer who completes 100 hours of dance over the course of one school year and is currently in a BC high school grades �-12.

How to Register
The following courses are available for the 2019/20 school year and count for fine arts credits and elective credits: Dance 10, 11, 12 Technique & Performance Dance 10, 11, 12 Choreography (Grade 9 students can enroll in Dance 10)
Program Details This program is for all dancers who dance a minimum of 100 hours over the course of a school year. If they dance 200+ hours they qualify to take two courses. They are required to complete online weekly journal entries, and a series of 3 assignments each term. (There are 3 terms in total). These assignments consist of reflections, self/teacher evaluations, a dance performance assignment and a few more. These credits count for their mandatory Fine Arts/Applied Skills graduation requirements according to the ministry of education.
