granite blocks.• Each block weighed around 2.5 tonnes.

Pyramid Facts• Pyramids were used to entomb the mummies of

pharaohs and their treasures they believed they would need for their afterlife.

• This practice ended after 500 years as robbers would steal the treasures hidden in the pyramids.

• Thereafter the pharaoh’s tombs were hidden in cliffs and under ground in the Valley of the Kings.

• Over time most of these tombs were raided as well.• The Great Pyramid of Giza was made for Pharaoh Khufu.
