FAST AND FURIOUS JUNE 28 Frustrated with 2020 yet? This year seems to be piling it on. And, in our impatience, we want it all to end now. Imagine if you learned to trust that God had better things planned instead of getting caught up in what’s happening in our world? It is possible to navigate this Fast and Furious world with God as our guide. Work through the following questions and scriptures on your own, and get together with your running partner, life group, or friends and family to talk through what you are learning. 1. In the message Kenny Green compared himself to Bruce Lee. What celebrity or person of influence do you think you share similar characteristics? Explain. 2. What stood out to you from the message? What questions do you have? What got you excited, curious, or confused? What do you want to do as a result of what you heard? 3. In what areas of life have you been feeling “out of control”? What emotions have you been experiencing as a result of these areas? Discuss. 4. Would you call yourself a patient person or an impatient person? What makes you answer this way? Can you describe a time you lost or held your patience recently? Hint: If you have trouble answering the question, ask someone you knows you at work or at home. 5. Read Psalm 63. This passage was written by David in the wilderness, during the rebellion of Absalom. How would you describe David’s prayer? 6. My Next Step: Think about how might you intentionally “slow down” this week? What does that look like? What might need to be sacrificed to do so? What challenges will you face in slowing down? How might you overcome those challenges? What rewards do you imagine you will receive by being intentional in slowing down? Keep a journal each evening or morning and share with your group or running partner next time you meet. D I S C U S S I O N Q U E S T I O N S

FAST AND FURIOUS JUNE 28Frustrated with 2020 yet?

Psalm 63. “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth. They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals. But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.” (NIV)
