    The BA (Hons) in Fashion allows students tospecialise as they progress through the programme.

    This intensive programme will develop yourability to transform creative 2D ideas into excitingfashion garments. You will learn traditional andcreative approaches to design, visual research,illustration, tailoring and pattern making. Youllhave opportunities to gain experience designingfor a variety of fashion genres, from sportswear

    to high-street and avant-garde, and to undertakework placements. Within the fashion industry youllengage with the entire f ashion process, from theformation and expression of your initial ideas rightthrough to your nal collection, and youll emerge

    as a highly credible and accomplished designer/maker.

    The world of fashion is exciting, fast-paced andcompetitive Were based in one of the fewremaining specialist art schools, so youll have manyopportunities to expand your creative skills and to

    Overview

    The BA (Hons) in Fashion allows students tospecialise as they progress through the programme.Looking for a career in the world of f ashion, butnot necessarily as a designer/maker? This couldbe just what youre looking for. Youll explore thefull fashion journey (from concept to production,merchandising and communication), consideringthe commercial aspects of successful fashionenterprise. Well develop your ability to work closely

    with other disciplines, including photography, lm,graphic design, creative advertising and more. Youllbecome a highly skilled communicator, ready totake advantage of a wide range of fashion careeropportunities including fashion design, PR styling,event management, video production, store design,

    visual merchandising and brand management.

    This programme places a heavy emphasis oninnovation and, communication using a wide range ofnew-media tools to develop you as a skilled practitioner.During the rst year, youll learn in a self-contained

    studio equipped with PCs and Macs as well asgarment-production facilities. In the other yearsyoull develop a exible approach to study by

    working in an open-plan contemporary studio space.

    Youll work with computer-aided design and video-editing software as you explore a variety of fashion-related disciplines such as branding, store interiors,packaging, photo shoots and lm-making.
