Jennifer DelaneyThree Trends For the Next Seasons

Fashion & trend predictions are not just chosen. The mood, behavior and buying habits of the consumer at different times of seasons are all analyzed. Fashion is no longer found by marketing to consumers by age, geography or income, but looking into how and what they buy, based on their culture, mood, beliefs, occasion & geographic locations. Each season, everyone is waiting for whats in trend for coming seasons. They rely heavily on creating a new line using these valuable data collected by professional agencies. Trend forecasts are based on seasons Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter. We are accustomed to seeing earthy tones in fall season, jeweled colors for holidays, pastels in the spring, and white makes a come back for the summer. All the manufacturers include some of these standard colors in there line or collection planning. New Technologies allow these predictions to be made through social media and online purchases. Indications can be made about how long crop tops will last for example. Although data comes from buzz these days, intuition is equally as important. I do not have access to these new crazy technologies so I will have to make my predictions based on intuition. I believe that lace and leopard print will sell regardless of global fashion trends so those are here to stay for now. Europe is really big on think wools, but Asia is not because they are sensitive to these fabrics. WGSN analyzed every outfit form the autumn 2013 catwalk shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris to make a numerical index for trends on colors, patterns, and products. Seventy-three percent more outfits had camoflouge and 43 percent fewer outfits used sheer fabrics than the year before. These stats obviously predict that camoflogue will be bigger, while sheer fabrics will be less dominant. These are not always correct if you believe a fashion trend will die, it could still come back. Sandra Halliday, WGSN's editor in chief said, In the late 90s everyone was talking about the death of denim and how it had become the domain of middle-aged men, she said. Then Tom Ford brought out this collection of embellished denim for Guccis spring 1999 show. The numbers didnt add up but it instantly changed the mood and impacted trends for seasons. Its that element of fashion that is tricky to quantify.Asian design right now is a layered look, structured and held together with belts and sophistication. London is bringing about a new fun look with pink, mint, stripes, eclectic prints, textured fabrics, and sheer slips. Boho Chic is large in Barcelona at this time. Their trick is to wearing classy clothes with one indie item. I love this look and this is all about my prediction for seasons to come. I remember when I was in 8th grade at camp, we had friends from Spain and they wore skinny jeans with thick belts and converse all stars. Two years later, everyone in America was wearing skinny jeans. Lately I have seen a ride for the interest in hippie-chic style clothing, along with elegant conservative clothes paired with pumps. Coral and mint will continue to be popular colors for spring and summer. The past few years neon colors have been popular, and I think that this will begin to die down. For winter and fall, I see big comfy sweaters with brown leather boots and a white tank with a long necklace. This look is comfy and cute and I cant see it going anywhere any time soon. I predict that tighter dresses will be back in and crop tops are also here to stay for a bit more. High waisted shorts were very popular the past few years but i think women might revert back to lower rise shorts. I guess we will just have to wait and see!
