Remembrance Day Assembly This Monday, all KCSS staff and students participated in Remembrance Day Assemblies. The assemblies contained performances by the KCSS Stage Band (including O Canada and the Last Post performed by Alexandra Valkanas), a French rendition of Flanders Fields and remarks by Principal Mr. D’Amico. The Guest of Honour was Private Dougan from the Canadian Armed Forces. He spoke to staff and students about his experience in the military, as well as Canada’s wartime history. It was a solemn assembly to mark an important day. Thank you to Ms. Littlejohn and Mr. Bentley for organizing. Interim Report Cards will be distributed Monday during Period 1

Award Winning Fashion Design

Raven Delmas and Nourhan Almasri represented KCSS at the York Region Skills Challenge Fashion Design Competition. Both designed coats as part of the challenge. Raven’s design won third place in the competition. Congratulations on your hard work and the great way you represented KCSS.

KCSS XCTRY RunningOn Wednesday the 16th, the KCSS Cross Country team raced a muddy course on at the Boyd Conservation Area in preparation for the YRAA championships. Shout-outs to Nathan Gojic, who placed 17th out of 200+ grade 9 boys. All runners are hoping to reach a personal best on the same course October 24 at the YRAA Championships.

Appointments for Teacher Interview Night are now open!

You may now login to edbsy to book appointment times for Teacher Interview Night. Families will need to create an Edsby account to access the online appointment scheduler for their child’s teachers for Teacher Interview Night. OSSLT Information Session in the Library 6:15-7:00Also during Teacher Interview Night, there will be a session in the library to provide parents information about the OSSLT that grade 10 students will write on Wednesday, March 31, 2020.

Reminder: Book Graduation Photos Now!

Class of 2020 students are now able to book their graduation photos. Grad photos will be taken from Monday, November 25 to Wednesday, December 4. Students are able to book appointments directly with Edge Imaging online in three simple steps:

Free Screening of ‘Screenagers NEXT Chapter: Uncovering Skills for Stress

ResilienceYou may remember last year information was shared about a screening of the documentary film Screenagers. Billed as “the first feature documentary to explore the impact of screen technology on kids and offer parents and families proven solutions.” Part 2 is being screened at Country Day School for the community.
