There are so many wonderful farms to tour, and we want to help you get the most out of this weekend. Below are some sample itineraries. Feel free to mix and match, switch the order, or customize to suit your interests or time frame.

CSA Tour: Still trying to figure out which CSA to join? This route may help you! 1 Georges Mill Farm Artisan Cheese offers a cheese-only CSA; 21 Lost Corner Farm offers a wide selection of produce; 14 Day Spring Farm has a full-diet option; and if you love strawberries, check out the strawberry CSA at 9 Wegmeyer Farms.

Hands-On Tour: Get your hands dirty! Ride a donkey and do a craft at 10 Donkey Meadows; pick strawberries at 16 Wegmeyer Farm at Oatlands; dig in at the 18 Loudoun County Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Garden; plant seeds and take home a planted post from 22 Loudounberry; feed an alpaca or take a pony ride at 25 Double 8 Alpaca Ranch.

Horses and More Tour: Meet some special four-legged Loudouners. 11 Project Horse Empowerment Center is celebrating their 10th anniversary with horses and more; 23 Alivio Farm is home to Lusitanos and Pure Spanish horses; 24 Equine Rescue League provides rehabilitation and adoption services for animals in need; and sheep can be found at 26 Willow Hawk Farm.

Tastes of Loudoun Tour: Eat Loudoun grown and made items all day. 4 Breezy Meadow Farms will have the grills fired up;

6 CEA Farms will have lots of additional local items that you can purchase and take home; 13 Blooming Hill offers tea and scones in their garden.

Little One’s Tour: All of our sites are family friendly, but here are a few that are ideal for the little ones. Pet some alpacas

7 Butterfly Hill Farm Store; explore 20 Temple Hall Farm Regional Park; take a free pony ride or hayride and enjoy the petting zoo at 17 American Academy of Equestrian Sciences; pick fresh strawberries at 15 Wegmeyer Farm at Gilbert’s Corner.

Look and See Tour: Sometimes it’s fun to explore a farm and enjoy the sites. Be sure to check the farm sites section for times that demonstrations will be held. 2 Long Stone Farm offers a self-guided walking tour; 3 Homestead 1870 will discuss eggs and show you how to make egg candles. Learn how to make a beautiful bouquet at 5 Greenstone Fields; if you’re curious about chickens, visit 19 The Farm at Walnut Creek; 8 Davlin Farm will be spinning wool; and history buffs should stop at 12 Fort Bacon Farm for details about its 200-year-old history.

CSA Tour: Still trying to figure out which CSA to join? This route may help you! 1 Georges Mill Farm Artisan Cheese offers a cheese-only CSA; 21 Lost Corner Farm offers a wide selection of produce; 14 Day Spring Farm has a full-diet option; and if you love strawberries, check out the strawberry CSA at 9 Wegmeyer Farms.

Hands-On Tour: Get your hands dirty! Ride a donkey and do a craft at 10 Donkey Meadows; pick strawberries at 16 Wegmeyer Farm at Oatlands; dig in at the 18 Loudoun County Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Garden; plant seeds and take home a planted post from 22 Loudounberry; feed an alpaca or take a pony ride at 25 Double 8 Alpaca Ranch.
