Frequently Asked Questions
1. I have not registered but want to be a part of the Yuva – Microsoft Initiative?
Ans) The registration for the Yuva-Microsoft Initiative is open till 15th July (more people can
be registered beyond that provided there is a good reason to it). For registering you can send
an interest email to the Yuva-MSP National Team on [email protected] or
you can even register through the link given below.

2. I am not a MSP yet can I be a part of this initiative?
Ans) If you are an MSP but you can take part in this Initiative through the stand of Yuva
Unstoppable. For further queries, mail on [email protected], the national
team of Yuva Unstoppable will get back to you within 72 working hours.
3. There are certain things I wish to learn more about this initiative what do I do?
Ans) For further details of this initiative, please contact the Yuva Unstoppable National Team
4. Even after all the promotion, the turnover of volunteers is not good, how to increase
number of volunteers?
Ans) There are different ways to promote and motivate people. To increase the number of
volunteers, ask the present turnover of volunteers to talk to their friends. Motivate people in
your college by showing them the benefits. You can schedule another Yuva-MSP seminar in
your college to attract more volunteers. Still if nothing works, no need to worry, start small
and then scale big.
5. Can the MSP make a few changes in the presentation provided with the Yuva-MSP Kit?
Ans) Ideally one should change the presentation but if the MSP feels that some basic
customization in the ppt will help them attract more volunteers then feel free to do so
without altering the meaning of the Yuva-MSP.
6. Can other means of promotion be used to promote Yuva-MSP in my college?
Ans) Other means of promotion can be used but do not publicize it beyond an extent.
7. Is it mandatory to get the MoUs signed with the college and the government school / NGO?
Ans) It is advisable to get MoUs signed with the colleges and government schools but
mandatory.
8. Once a MoU has been signed and approved by college, is it supposed to be scanned and sent
to the Yuva-MSP National Team?
Ans) Yes! If you have the signed MoU with the college it is advisable to send the document.
9. Can I collaborate with other MSPs of my college or my city?
Ans) You can always collaborate with other MSPs but your reporting (of the work you have
done, volunteers, raised, etc) has to be separate.
10. What if I am not able to find any NGO or government school nearby where I and my
volunteers can teach?
Ans) If you are not able find any NGO in your area then contact the Yuva-MSP national team
on [email protected], they will help you to locate a NGO in your area.
11. Does the NGO have to be working in the same field i.e. educating underprivileged kids?
Ans) Yes, the NGO has to be working in the field of educating children.
12. What are we supposed to teach the children and from where can we get the
material/syllabus to teach?
Ans) The digital literacy curriculum is available on http://www.microsoft.com/digitalliteracy.

13. How are the MSPs expected to keep a track of the execution (things like which volunteers
are teaching where and what)?
Ans) The MSP’s can appoint leaders from the volunteers and get a simple weekly report
from them in terms of who all went to teach the children, what was taught and for how long.
In case the volunteer strength is very low the MSP can keep a tab on everything himself
directly.
14. Do I have to report the work to the Yuva-MSP National Team? If yes then how?
Ans) Yes, you need to report to the Yuva-MSP National Team. A weekly report has to be sent
to the Yuva-MSP National Team. This reporting could be online on the Yuva Unstoppable
website or on email using a simple excel. The details of reporting and the format will be
informed to all MSPs very soon. Remember reporting of the work is very important.
15. Once execution has begun, can I lead the volunteers in the way I want to? Eg. Ask them to
meet frequently and discuss about how to make sure the underprivileged students
understand, discuss about the progress of the Yuva-MSP chapter, etc.
Ans) Yes, once the execution has begun you can lead the volunteers in any way you want.
16. When will we get the certificates?
Ans) Anyone who has volunteered for a minimum of 3 months (as per the weekly reports) is
eligible for the certificate. There is another higher level of recognition for people who show
commitment beyond those 3 months as well.
17. Will all MSPs and volunteers get certificates?
Ans) Yes all MSPs and volunteers will get certificates, provided they have volunteered for a
minimum of 3 months (as per the weekly reports).
18. Will the beneficiaries get certificates?
Ans) The beneficiaries may get certificates, provided they have been taught regularly and
effectively for a period of minimum 3 months.
19. Which classes should be taught the curriculum?
Ans) MSPs are expected to make their own judgment here as different places (govt. schools /
NGOs) will have different scenario. Depending upon (1) what has been the previous exposure of
computers and (2) the level of students, MSPs can decide what level of the curriculum can be
taught to the children and to which classes. Usually classes 5 and above can understand at least
the basics of the computers.
20. Can the MSPs make changes to the curriculum?
Ans) MSPs can make changes to the curriculum (but should be able to justify the change). It is
understood that the beneficiaries will be different in different places, therefore some
contextual customization may happen.
21. How important is reporting of the work done by the MSPs and the volunteers?
Ans) Weekly reporting of the work done by the Yuva-MSP chapters is very important and
becomes a proof later while giving out certificates/LORs. This reporting will happen on the Yuva
Unstoppable website and will be hardly a minute’s work.
22. Does the initiative have an official Facebook page?
Ans) The initiative’s official Facebook page is on www.facebook.com/yuvamsp You can use this
page to share updates, ideas, pictures, ask questions, etc.
23. When will the MSPs be eligible for a Letter of Recommendation?
Ans) Those MSPs who have done exceptional work in terms of teaching, raising volunteers,
sending regular reports and for over 9 months consistently may be issued a Letter of
Recommendation.
