Q: How do I apply a banner floor price?A: Please contact your account manager or Switch support and we will be happy to guide you through the process.

Q: Why do I need banner floor prices if I have an ad unit floor price?A: An ad unit floor price will apply the same floor price to all of the banner sizes linked. Banner floor prices allow a flexible pricing structure for the different size banners linked. This gives you the opportunity to price different size ad formats more accurately to their value.

Q: What happens if I have a banner floor price and an ad unit floor price?A: In this case, the higher price will be respected in the auction. Example: Ad Unit Floor = £3.00970x250 Floor = £4.00728x90 Floor = £3.50468x60 Floor = £2.50

In the example above, the 468x60 floor at £2.50 would not be respected in the auction. The ad unit floor at £3.00 would be the auction price to beat for the 468x60 size.

For the 468x60 floor at £2.50 to be respected within the auction, a user can either remove the ad unit floor completely or reduce the 468x60 floor to below £2.50 (when removing an Ad unit floor completely please ensure that all other banners are priced appropriately).

Q: If I have multiple banner sizes linked to an ad unit, can I assign a banner floor price to only one of the banners?A: Yes; a banner floor price will only affect the banner to which it is applied. The existing ad unit floor price will be respected for the remaining banners linked.

Q: How do I decide an appropriate banner floor price?A: Please contact your Switch account manager and we will be happy to advise you.

Frequently Asked Questions for

Floor Price

Q: Will a banner floor price have an affect on my fill rate or CPM?A: Similar to an ad unit floor price, you should ensure that banner floor prices are set appropriately to reflect the market value of your inventory. If banner floor prices are set too high, this could result in higher CPMs, but a lower fill rate, resulting in lower overall revenue.
