FA&P believes that inspired design has the ability to positively transform and enhance the

environments in which we live, work and play. We also believe that quality design adds

transcendent value in both social and economic terms. FA&P begins each project with an

investigation into the unique characteristics of the site and surrounding context, and building on

this, we work to enhance those unique qualities through particularized design strategies. We

then strategically create unique experience-rich environments where buildings, interiors and

public spaces are woven into a synergic urban whole. The resulting sense of identity that people

feel about the project stimulates the community’s aura of quality and sense of belonging, which,

in turn, inaugurates a multiplying economic benefit for the project and the region.

Faisal Arshad is an architect based in Islamabad, Pakistan. He is actively involved

in the professional practice as well as the academics, a faculty member at

COMSATS Islamabad.

He has over 14 years of profound & diverse experience including his most

challenging instrumental role with the award winning architectural firm TAK Design

& with one of the largest developers Sama Dubai. The highlights of his design

portfolio includes world’s longest grandstand at the Meydan Horse Racecourse in

Dubai, the state of the art facility that also house Godolphin Museum & the Hotel,

all as one integrated structure. Since coming back to Pakistan in 2009, he has

started his own practice working locally & collaborating with an American

Architectural firm for a modular housing in various provinces of Iraq.

He conducts frequent workshops at various architectural schools and lectures

widely as invited speaker. He has introduced the first ever leisure based learning

workshop ‘Graphico’ on Architectural Graphics & Visual Communication, which

has become a regular most sought after annual feature among the students

nationwide due to its distinct format. His workshops gets frequently published in

the architectural magazine Archi Times.

He is on the panel of BAE (Board of Architectural Education) as a resource

instructor and has held the office of Honorary Secretary IAP (Institute of Architects

Pakistan). He is the recipient of IAP Recognition Award, as an acknowledgement

for valuable contributions in the field of practice/ academics/ the service to the

institute.

Waqar Aziz is a graduate from National College of Arts Lahore in 1997 with a

Masters of Architectural Design from Bartllett School of Architecture, London in

1999. He has over 15 years of diverse experience working in Pakistan &

Internationally with reputed design firms. During his international experience of

Canada & Holland spanning on more than a decade, he has been able to cover a

wide range of working in the roles of Design Associates, Computer Visualizer,

Senior Design Architect, Project Architect, Design Coordinator to Creative Director.

At FA+P, he brings a profound & holistic knowledge of architectural concepts,

detail development, architectural technologies & building construction. Being a

Design Director in the firm, he plays an instrumental role leading the team of

architects, cad technicians & project managers.

Like all other key personnel of the firm, Waqar has a keen interest in the academics. He is a visiting Assistant Professor of Architecture at School of Architecture Design & Arts at NUST Islamabad.

Halit Yagmur is a turkish national with a graduation from University of Engineering

& Technology Lahore in 1991. Since his education here in Pakistan, Halit has

found a keen interest in this country by exploring many places during his eight

years of stay here. He speaks excellent urdu and is native to the culture.

His portfolio has many rewarding works that he has done since 1995 at the time

of a severe earthquake in the northern areas of the country causing complete

devastation. As a pledge from the Turkish Government, he was deputed on the

construction of Turkish Housing Scheme including 4620 houses and 39 public

buildings in Punjab, Sindh & Baluchistan. Apart from that he was completely

involved in the rescue operations, humanitarian relief & rehabilitation works in

collaboration with Swiss & UN teams.

Halit involved himself in another rehabilitation program at flood hit areas of Sindh

as one of the Turkish Government liaison field person.

Contemporary Arab style affordable housing conceptualized on a

prefab construction system for an Architectural Firm based in Los

Angeles. The 9 different type of villas have been presented to a

developer client for authority’s phase 1 submission and for real

estate sale publishing.

The firm’s is involved in producing design documentation package

including BOQs & Outline Specifications for tender.

RESIDENTIAL



A residential project on 1000 sq yards adjacent to another same size vacant piece of land

visualized completely in a contemporary language. The client is conscious of the outlook

treatment, articulation of masses and the treatment of facades in a most innovative way

compelling us to use the most diverse combination of finishes. The house has a perfectly

place indoor atrium that allows the dwelling of three joint families to share a sense of

livability while having their independent living quarters. All three sides of the house offer

breathing spaces in terms of green landscape with the back side as additional stretch of land

available for cultivation of orchards, vegetables thus making an ecological foot print around

the building. The cross section of the house is being developed in a way sinking the whole

piece of land 5-6 feet below the road level with a ramp access transforming the basement as

an open lower ground. This shall allow the building to overlook convincingly the descending

rolling lawns at the back side. We have completed its engineering & services design package

and the contract has been awarded for the start of construction in November 2013.

A leisure based accommodation facility for Army Officers at a hill

station has been conceived on a plot with shear slope. The

topography has permitted us to place the main building with all of its

rooms having south side valley view through thick pine forest.

The accommodation consists of 20 Single room suites with a dining/

face facility. It has an adjoining block with four suits of double rooms ,

living area equipped with pantries.

An existing residential unit completely transformed into a contemporary furniture exhibit space in

the heart of Islamabad city. Existing façade was conceived creating maximum exposure of the

display. Front was landscaped with a sense of design through a combination of soft & hardscape.
