Klimakonvektor NBS 100/150

DescriptionNBS fan coil units with small mounting height are used for de-centralised air treatment. They are particularly suitable for smallunits in which higher cooling capacities and pressures are re-quired than those that a standard fan coil unit is able to provide.Additionally, the NBS fan coil units outdo the performance ofstandard fan coil units.Its compact dimensions and low height make the NBS fan coilunit the perfect solution for horizontal installation in false ceil-ings or suspension-type mounting in industrial halls.The fan coil unit series consists of two model series, a modularunit (NBS 100) and a compact unit (NBS 150), which can bothbe delivered, depending on the desired performance profile,with different motor, register and filter equipment.

Advantages

Description of the equipmentBase unitThe base unit consists of a jacket made of galvanised sheet steelequipped with heat and noise insulation, a motorised fan, one ortwo heat exchangers, filters and a collecting pan for the water ofcondensation.

HousingIn the 100 series, the housing consists of galvanised sheet steelprofiles and plates and heat or sound insulation 12 mm in thick-ness.In the 150 series, the housing consists of aluminium profiles,galvanised sheet steel, plastic corners and a circumferential sealto guarantee tightness. The jacket is manufactured in sandwichdesign and has interior heat or sound insulation 25 mm in thick-ness.

Heat exchangerThe heat exchanger can con-sist of a single register(cooling or heating) or tworegisters (cooling and heat-ing). They consist of copperpipes, aluminium ribs, amanual diffuser system anda galvanised steel frame.This unit is completed by acollecting pan made of galvanised sheet steel for collecting thewater of condensation from the cooling register.The length of the register and the number of pipe rows or cir-cuits of each register depend on the performance required. Thewater connections can be attached to the left- or right-handside.

Motorised fanThe built-in fans are dynamical-ly balanced, double-sided in-take-operated centrifugalblowers with forward directedblades.The fans have been selected toallow the required static pres-sures to be achieved at lowsound power levels. The NBS100 model has a motor withone, two or three fans. The se-

ries 150 comprises a motorised fan with one motor (1 fan), 2motors (2 fans) or 3 motors (3 fans).

FilterThe filter of filter class G3 or G4(only for NBS 150) consists of agalvanised steel frame and asynthetic filter medium.To facilitate maintenance work,the filters are guided in profilesso that they can be easily re-moved by pulling them out sideways or, optionally also down-wards or upwards.An optional multi-part filter facilitating filter removal can also beordered.

AccessoriesOptionally, upon customer request or when required, additionalaccessories can be delivered, such as: mixing unit, silencers forsupply air and return air, flange, multi-part filter, flexible con-nections, droplet separator and an electric heating register.SCHAKO offers an extensive product range of control equip-ment (temperature controls, valves, actuators, etc.).

Mineral fibre board silencersFor noise reduction purposes in the return and supply air sec-tions, it is possible to install a silencer. The silencers consist of vertically arranged small cells on a gal-vanised sheet steel frame. The cells consist of mineral fibreboards (biodegradable, abrasion-resistant and fire-resistant ac-cording to DIN 4102) covered with a continuous glass fibre fil-ament. In order to reduce noise, while ensuring minimumpressure loss, the length of the cells and their spacing dependon the desired silencing effect. The cover of the baffles can bemade of smooth or perforated plates, as desired, which can alsobe combined on one or both sides or one or two half-covers.An intermediate piece (box) of 400 - 500 mm is needed betweenthe air outlet or the air intake of the the NBS and the silencer.

MaintenanceMaintenance of the NBS units is easy. Depending on the degreeof soiling, the filter is cleaned or replaced (at least twice a year).The condensate drains must be checked and cleaned once ayear.
