TODAYThe Runtal NEO combines the slim proportions and elegant lines of a Runtal panel with a low voltage fan assisted heat exchanger to provide a large heating capacity in a small compact unit. This unique design, coupling a radiant panel with small yet powerful 24 Volt fans and a heat exchanger, will quickly and efficiently heat a room with surprisingly quiet operation.

TOMORROWThe Runtal NEO is an elegant, efficient, and clean solution for providing comfort and style when using low temperature heating solutions of the future, such as heat pumps, solar-thermal systems, or condensing boilers. The Runtal NEO incorporates a washable filter into the design. This not only helps to maintain the operating efficiency over time, but also provides a level of cleanliness to the gently flowing air circulating within the room.

The Runtal NEO comes standard in the Runtal 9010R White color, or may be available in a variety of Runtal optional colors at an additional cost.

NEO OPERATIONAdding a small coil and 24 Volt fans to the panel radiator yields a large heating capacity in a compact size, even when matched with a lower supply water temperature as found with water-to-water heat pumps, waste heat applications, solar heating, and condensing boilers.

In mild conditions, the radiator can be operated without fans to create a soft radiant comfort. As conditions grow colder, three stages of fans boost the radiator’s output to keep the space warm and comfortable, with nearly silent fan operation.

A thermostatic radiator control valve is typically used to modulate the water flow into the radiator.

CONTROL PANELThe easy-to-use control panel on the top of the radiator controls the three speeds of the fans and will alert the user for filter cleaning and sensor defects.

PIPING OPTIONSRuntal NEO radiators can be ordered with either left hand or right hand piping configurations. The inlet and outlet sizes are ½” NPT female connections.

Many times thermostatic control valves are used to control the hot water flow into the NEO radiator. Runtal offers chrome valve sets, which include the thermostatic control valve and matching shutoff valve, to complete the sleek elegant look of the installation.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONThe Runtal NEO radiator comes with a 24 Volt transformer plug to power the NEO fans, which is plugged into a standard 110 Volt outlet located adjacent to the NEO radiator. As an option for large projects, the Runtal NEO radiator can also be direct wired to a central 24 Volt electrical circuit system.

Step 3: Mark the location for the unit on the wall, note that the wall mount plate should be fixed to wall studs or other solid backing.

Step 6: Hang the NEO unit to the wall mount bracket, then secure the unit with screws into the hold down clips. The unit is now ready for piping and electrical.

Step 4: Attach an appropriate wall mount fastener at the center of the wall mount plate to hold the plate to the wall.

Step 5: Level the wall mount plate and then secure it with additional wall fasteners.

SAMPLE SPECIFICATIONThe hydronic fan assisted radiators shall be the Runtal NEO model as supplied by Runtal North America, Inc. The radiators shall consist of a panel radiator coupled with a fan powered heat exchanger, all in a complete one-piece unit. The radiator shall be capable of operating with the front radiant panel only (fans off), or with one of the three available fan speeds activated for greater output. The units shall be supplied with the models, lengths, and piping connection option as shown in the radiator schedule.

The units shall include a wall mount plate for wall mounting and lock down clips for mounting security. Necessary wall support blocking for proper radiator mounting shall be by others. The units shall also include ½” female NPT pipe connections in one of four available configurations, a 24 Volt transformer plug for powering the unit fans, and a 5 mm thick woven washable reticulated polyurethane filter for incoming air filtration.

The radiator finish shall be standard Runtal White powder coat finish for a total paint thickness of 2-3 mils. Other Runtal optional colors may be available at an additional cost.

The radiator shall have a working pressure of 58.8 PSI, with a test pressure of 76.4 PSI.

(OPTIONAL)Each radiator shall include a chrome plated valve set consisting of a ½” NPT non-electric thermostatic control valve and a companion ½” NPT shutoff valve, as supplied by the radiator manufacturer.
