Data Communication Tools

Retrieving compliance data in a timely and

efficient manner is crucial to business success

as well as improving patient outcomes.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare provides the

following data communication tools:

• Telephonereporting:thepatientcanrelaysleepdatafromthe

Display screen of the device, which can then be verified using

F&P InfoSmart™ Software.

• SmartStick™:utilizinggenericUSBtechnologywhichprovides

large data storage capacity. The patient can mail the

SmartStick™ to you for download direct to F&P InfoSmart™.

Data Reporting

Treatment compliance and efficacy reporting is a key factor for comprehensive patient follow-up and thus therapy outcomes. F&P InfoSmart™ Software produces comprehensive charting and reporting of patient data including:

– 30 days of summary data– 7 days of detailed data– Cumulative summary data from first use

The reports are divided into five sections (refer to table on back). The first four sections of the report are detailed as follows.

AHI Profile

The AHI is displayed for each night of the selected 30-day period. An effective treatment indicator of 5 is also shown on the report.

Pressure Profile

The average and 90th percentile pressure values are displayed for each night.Prescription pressures are indicated by the horizontal black lines.

System Leak Profile

The average and 90th percentile leak values are displayed for each night.

Usage and Humidity Profile

CPAP usage and humidity setting are displayed for each night.

Events

SensAwake™ activations, hypopnea, apneaand flow limited events are identified foreach night. An AHI is also displayed.

CPAP Patterns of Use

Patterns of CPAP use are established, helping to track patient sleep hygiene.

Pressure Profile

The Pressure Profile demonstrates the pressure variations throughout each night (including maximum, minimum and apnea cap pressures). Prescription pressures are indicated by the horizontal black lines.

System Leak Profile

The System Leak Profile demonstrates the leak levels throughout each night. Excessive leak is measured as 60 L/min. Leaks above this level could indicate a poor mask fit.

Run Time

CPAP usage and humidity setting are displayed for each night.

Efficacy Statistics

The average AHI is displayed for the 30-day period. An AHI of less than 5 indicates effective treatment but if it is 5 or more this requires further investigation into the detailed data to identify the cause. The average system leak is displayed for the 30-day period in liters per minute. The leak is comprised of mask leak, bias flow and mouth leak. A leak value ≥ 60 L/min may require further investigation.

Compliance Statistics

This displays the 30-day period selected by the clinician. It shows the number of days that the device has been used for ≥ 4 hours. A number less than 21 days during a 30-day period would alert you to ≤ 70% compliance.

Compliance Metric

The compliance metric provides an automatic calculation of patient compliance, designed to meet the United States’ CMS guidelines. The compliance metric details the number of days in the reporting period that the patient used the CPAP for ≥ 4 hours and the percentage of nights that the patient used the device for ≥ 4 hours.
