Redlands Church June 2015 Page 1 Happy Summer! June is here, and with it, graduation ceremonies, summer vacation, VBS, summer camps, road trips, and sadly, our final Kids’ Church of this school year. Don’t worry though - we will be back in September, and we can’t wait to catch up and share our summer stories! You see, it is summertime, and every summer has a story. The kids are home, the days are long and hot, and the school year routines are out the window. Summer brings with it its own set of challenges - how DO you stop your child from complaining “I’m BORED” that 200th time? - but it also brings with it an opportunity for new adventures, meaningful conversations, and special memories. What will this summer hold in store for you? Here is an idea to get you started: Soak It Up When we receive love, it changes us from the inside out! Each day, as we receive love from God, we can pass it on to others. We can be a beautiful example of God’s love in our homes, communities, and around the world. Using flowers and food coloring, watch as the flowers go through a beautiful transformation. Spend time together as a family discussing ways each of us embraces the love that we receive. Happy Summer!

Summer brings with it its own set of challenges - how DO you stop your child from complaining “I’m

BORED” that 200th time? - but it also brings with it an opportunity for new adventures, meaningful conversations, and special memories.

What will this summer hold in store for you? Here is an idea to get you started:

• Soak It Up

When we receive love, it changes us from the inside out!

(For more, go to http://hub.truministry.com/h/i/87997293-homefront-june-2015)

Blessings, Pastor Chelle

BONUS: Road Trip Idea. Don’t forget there is a free app called “Questions in a Box”, perfect for keeping the conversation moving on those long road trips. We have made great use of it already! http://questionsinabox.com/

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLoses June 17!

VBS: June 22-26, 6:30-8:30 pm

Sign up now to this year’s amazing VBS, where we get to travel back in time and space to Hometown Nazareth, where kids get to explore the sights, sounds, and smells of Jesus’ home town, and maybe even get a taste of what it means to say Jesus is truly God’s son!

Register online by going to www.redlandschurch.com and following the VBS links.

Thank you Yvonne!

Kids’ Church has been a vital part of our children’s ministry program for close to 15 years, and Yvonne Fankhanel, our fearless Kids’ Church director, has been part of it from the beginning.

This Kids’ Church is a transition for us, for it is the last one Yvonne will be directing before she takes some well deserved time off, hopefully resting & relaxing. Thank you Yvonne for all you’ve done, and thank you Rob Clizbe, long-time Kids’ Church team member, for stepping up to lead us into new wonder-filled worlds!

Sabbath School Promotions:

Elementary: August 22

As we go into the summer, we know that many of you travel, as do many of our SS teachers. Because we believe that a big part of a happy and successful Sabbath School is the relationship between kids and the adults in the class, and because that relationship is hard to nurture in the mayhem of the summer, promotions at the Redlands Church happen at the beginning of the school year. Thus if your child is in elementary school (up to 6th grade), please mark the Promotion Sabbath date (August 22).

Next BTL: July 3

Since we do have a summer program for kids entering into 7th grade and above, the promotion date is different for them. For all new 7th graders, the next "Between The Lines" Junior High event is July 3. Please contact Shelly Turner ([email protected]) for more details.
