FAMILY CONNECTION ON THE INTERNET: COLLEGE GUIDANCE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

As a junior, we hope that you are already signed on to Family Connection. This program offers students and parents access to a personalized, comprehensive website designed to help students make decisions about colleges.

It offers you access to a host of useful resources: College Search Instruments - you can input the criteria you are looking for in a college and it will provide you with a list of names to research. College Websites - you can access the websites of all the colleges in the country and in some foreign nations as well. Personalized Connection to Kings Park High School Counseling Center- Students can interact with their counselors:

o Access to your average and standardized test score. o Complete surveys and forms for your counselor. o Maintain e mail contact with the counselor and the college consultant. o Sign up to see college admissions counselors in the Career Center.

Personal Planning Activities o Build a resume. o Complete your game plan. o Maintain a l ist o f colleges in which youhave an interest. o College Match - provides you with a list of schools to which Kings Park

High School graduates with a similar academic profile as you have applied.

o Scattergrams - analysis of KPHS college acceptance results from previous years. You can see how your average and test scores compare to previous students who applied to the schools inyhich you are interested. 4. . . .
