T he funds raised to help the Columbus County Families First Domestic Violence Shelter in

Whiteville have been put to good use. The RFCU Marketing Committee visited the shelter a few days after the ride in April.

During that visit, the group decided to spend the raised funds to refurbish the outside veranda and playground area of the shelter. This project most greatly benefits the children housed there.

As luck would have it, implementing the project kicked off on the warmest day of the summer, but that did not deter our work.

Staff and community leaders

volunteered their help with equipment and manual labor. We cordially thank Parks Trucking, Columbus County Baptist Men’s Group, several of staff’s family members and one special youth member, Ethan Stanley. Ethan is a Buck

Club member and he kept everyone on task to complete their job while on site. “Great job Mr. Ethan, we couldn’t have done it without you,” says Elaine Williams, Marketing Director.

It’s amazing how businesses and

community groups come together

to help non-profit ogranizations such as

Families First. The CC Baptist Men’s Group

volunteers assembled the

playground equipment together after the sand was placed. Park’s Trucking donated the playground sand and several other members helped with finishing work on the playground area. The RFCU staff mulched flower beds, raked, planted flowers and put finishing touches on the area. Feel free to view the before, during and after pictures on our Facebook page.

Letter from the CEO: Important Insurance Change Notice CUNA Mutual Financial Group (CMFG) has notified Riegelwood FCU they will no longer provide group policy Life Savings Insurance effective December 31, 2014. RFCU will continue the coverage until it expires on December 31, 2014.

We know our members value the peace of mind and security that life insurance provides. That’s why CMFG is offering to convert your Life Savings coverage to a guaranteed issue Primary Protection Plan. This new member pay policy provides life insurance coverage up to $4000.

Conversion is simple. Just request, complete and return the CMFG insurance application with your first month’s premium payment directly to CMFG Life Insurance Company by January 31, 2015. To request an application you will need to contact 855-728-5205 to speak with a fully licensed insurance representative. CMFG will review all situations and provide

guidance to ensure the right type of insurance protection based on your current and future needs.

Members are responsible for premium payments. New policies are effective after completing the application. New insurance policy premiums are based on member’s age at time of application.

The credit union is very sorry we will no longer be able to offer this valuable product to our members, but also very thankful CMFG is able to provide you with an insurance replacement product that may fit your needs.
