AIRCRAFT PART: BOEING 747 WINDOW FUSELAGE SECTION.

Cut from the fuselage of a Boeing 747 “Jumbo Jet” Aircraft or otherwise “Queen of the Skies”; these beautifully reworked window sections go through a lengthy process of cutting, shaping, cleaning, sanding, polishing and then powder-coating to produce a stunning and unique time piece fit to ornate any wall.

Three different metalwork finishes are available: A perfect mirror-polish, a rustic mirror-polish and a unique matt polish. To preserve the beauty of the original features we laboriously polish around each individual rivet to preserve their protrusion and maintain character.

Numerous powder-coated colour ways are available for the frame. And finally, two clock face types are offered: Either the original acrylic windows re-polished with a vinyl graphic, or a laser cut aluminium cargo window.

A specially engineered wall-mounting bracket is included.

AIRCRAFT PART: AIRBUS A320 AIRCRAFT ESCAPE HATCH.

Once serving as the emergency exit door of an Airbus A320, the aluminium exterior has been polished to a mirror-finish and supports a toughened glass top. The frame and legs have been hand crafted out of solid, sustainable black American walnut to form beautiful curves that remain true to the original engineering of the door. The underbelly chassis has been powder-coated in yellow to add a dash of vibrancy.

Once the wheel has been chemically stripped, every curve, peak and recess is sanded and polished to produce a stunning mirror-finish. This is a painstaking process that is undertaken entirely by hand, accumulating over 100 hours of work from start to finish. The inside of the table is powder-coated black, whilst a 40” piece of toughened, polished glass sits on top. A beautiful piece that creates a distinctive atmospheric statement.

Once the wheel has been chemically stripped, every curve, peak and recess is sanded and polished to produce a stunning mirror-finish on the aluminium whilst the inside of the table is powder-coated black and a 40” piece of toughened, polished glass sits on top. This is a painstaking production process that is entirely undertaken by hand, accumulating in over 120 hours work from start to finish, resulting in a beautiful piece of art that creates a distinctive atmospheric statement in any environment.

AIRCRAFT PART: SECTION OF A LEADING EDGE SLAT OF AN AIRBUS A320.

The iconic curves and sharp edge of the leading edge slat radiate Art Deco design. Inspired by this beautiful period, we transform a whole leading edge slat into a number of smaller parts. Each piece is then sanded, polished and powder-coated before being married with a weathered brass column and a hand-built iron base to create an intriguing desk or table lamp.

EXHAUST LAMP

AIRCRAFT PART: EXHAUST FROM A BAE 146.

Standing over 6ft tall and taking inspiration from the A.E Cremer Parisian lights of the 1950’s, this piece exudes character and personality. The head undergoes a process of sanding, polishing and heating to create a sea of blues, golds, and purples that radiate from the remarkable exhaust cone light head of this unique piece. The polished stainless steel stand has been designed and manufactured from the ground up, carefully blending minimalism and functionality whilst the Italian holophane glass radiates a warm glow.

A bespoke and unique experience from start to finish, our cowling pieces are built to order and come in the form of a cocktail bar or reception desk. After taking the client to choose from available cowlings and remove them from the decommissioned aircraft, the interior is then hand-crafted from either exotic hardwoods or more modernist, highly lacquered painted wood, with fitting to suit individual needs.

Bespoke window lengths are obtainable to create a stunning wall feature or room divider. The height and width of the fuselage can be cut to suit the client’s needs. The original acrylic passenger aircraft windows are then restored to finish off a beautifully simplistic feature. Three different metalwork finishes are available: A perfect mirror-polish, a rustic mirror-polish and a unique matt polish.

Built once and never to be replicated, a true one of a kind. A mirror-polished aluminium and steel exterior opens to reveal a beautifully-crafted interior consisting of a polished brass and lacquered black American walnut shelving unit and door inlays. Custom-made, copper cocktail utensils finish off a truly breathtaking drinks cabinet.

Using reclaimed, authentic aircraft parts, from both military and civilian aircraft steeped in history, Fallen Furniture take pride in exploring the most innovative ways to breathe new life into these remarkable feats of engineering to design and create pieces of art and furniture.

Each piece is meticulously crafted with an emphasis on originality and personality resulting in a distinctive and decorative tribute to aviation heritage and engineering, guaranteed to inspire, intrigue and captivate conversation in any home or place of business.

With a strong belief of design as applied art – there to be used not just looked at – inspiration is drawn from a number of different periods: from the Art Deco movement of the early 1900’s to the Parisian craftsmen creating robust industrial furniture and lighting in the 40’s, to the 21st century eco design movement.

A design process and ethos has been born that centers around celebrating a single, beautifully engineered aircraft part and marrying it with an eclectic mix of sustainable metals, woods and textiles to create a truly unique product of elegance, functionality and modernity.

Working from a restored 17th century building on the outskirts of the creative heritage city of Bath, a strong focus on British manufacturing and craftsmanship is adopted, with all elements of production based in Britain. This allows for complete quality control over every piece that leaves the workshop.
