This is our city. Fallas is the most important festivity here. We are going to
show you this festivity, celebrated in March, for St. Joseph’s Day (19th of
March)
TRADITIONAL FOOD
Paella is a traditional meal from Valencia.
We have hot chocolate with “bunyols” in Fallas.
PLANTÀ
On March 15th and 16th, fallas are built on the streets of Valencia.
IMPORTANT FALLASThese are some of the most
important fallas in Valencia.
NINOTSFallas are made with “ninots”.
They are made of cardboard, wood, cork…

BANGERS
Bangers are typical in Fallas, but they are dangerous…
During the days of Fallas, at 14:00 there is a “Mascletà”.
At midnight, there are fireworks.
FALLEROSHere you have a girl and a boy
dressed with the traditional costumes.
FLOWER PARADEOn 16th and 17th of March, falleras give
flowers to the Virgin and they create a blanket of flowers. It’s very moving.
It’s called “Ofrenda”.
CREMÀOn 19th at midnight, fallas are burnt. It’s the end of the festivity.
OUR SCHOOL FALLAAt our school, we also create a falla with recycled materials. We put it on the playground so all the students can see it.
