FREDERIC – Frederic’s Ken Be-langer is in his 46th year of coachingfootball and is in his 11th season as aFrederic Viking. He’s no doubt seenjust about everytype of teamimaginable, butsays this year’sVikings team isn’ta real vocal team.Perhaps they’resaving their en-ergy for the regu-lar season, butBelanger says hiskids are still en-thusiastic.With a scrim-
mage already in the books, Belangersaid he wasn’t exactly pleased withhow things went. He said they have a
solid run-defense, werea bit wobbly on their pass defense anddidn’t execute well offensively.“We’ve definitely made some adjust-
ments,” Belanger said, noting that afew didn’t play, and only two playersat the scrimmage were at the same po-sitions they played last season. At leastfive positions on offense, and six ondefense, had changed back to their oldpositions prior to their first game ofthe season against Northwood/SolonSprings.“We now know exactly what direc-
tion we’re going in,” Belanger said. The Vikings have some size on their
line this year with Chris Hopp, BryceWilliamson, Dayton Rivera and Ryan
Wylie, and Blaine Clemons at center.Along with size, the Vikings have a lit-tle speed despite losing Tony Petersonand BenAckerley to graduation. Peter-son rushed for 1,545 yards last season, and Ackerley passed for over 900yards and was the team's second lead-ing rusher.Waylon Buck is stepping in at quar-
terback, this season, but was the Vikesleading receiver last year, leaving a bitof a void at the receiver core. None ofthem have caught a varsity ball yet,but that will soon change as Buck is agood passer and quick out of thepocket.“Buck is quick at quarterback and
he’s looking good. He’s done a nice
job,” Belanger said.Along with a good line, and even
despite the loss of two offensive pow-ers, Belanger still expects to have asolid running game and run-defense.Alongwith Buck,AdamChenal at full-back, and even a 5’ 10”freshman named PeterChenal, it could be a lotof fun to watch thisVikings team progress.“I think we’ve got
some really good play-ers,” Belanger said.
Although their pre-season scrimmagedidn't go that well, the Vikings seasonopener against asolid Northwood-Solon Springs teamproves the Vikingsare ready for actionin their next eightregular seasongames. – Photo byMarty Seeger

GRANTSBURG – If the Pirates of-fensive line stays healthy, you couldsee big things from their running gamethis fall. It will beinteresting to seewho replaces1,000-yard rusherDerek Bertlesen, and the speedyKyle Johnson, who were a bigpart of the Piratesoffense beforegraduation tookthem away.“I think we’ll
be big up frontfor sure. It’s a matter of finding run-ning backs to hit the holes, and I think
we’ll open some things up front,” saidcoach Keith Lehne, who is in his 14thseason with the Pirates. The core of the Pirates O-line, with
an average weight of 227 pounds, in-cludes seniors Damien Rasmussen,Seth Coy, David Ohnstad and AndyJones and junior Colton Tretszven. Forthe past 10 years, the responsibility ofthe Pirates line has fallen on coach JoshWatt, who has molded these particularlinemen from the ground up.“I think he’s done a tremendous job
with those guys,” Lehne said.Along with quarterback Daniel
Larsen, who filled in nicely last seasonwhen BrentMyers went downwith in-jury, the Pirates will be going with a
different look on defense under sec-ond-year defensive coordinator, AdamHale. The team actually gained asafety on defense this season with sen-ior Thomas Labatt, who is 6’ 3’’, 200pounds, and played as a freshman. Butit looks as though this team is beingbuilt on its offense.“I think with this big offensive line
that we do have, there’ll be some op-portunities to run some differentthings,” Lehne said, and he hopes histeam can build on last year's firstround playoff win.“I think last year was a big turn-
around for us, and it was good to getback into the playoffs and kind of resetthat tone of expectation. Hopefully we
can play well in our conference and gofrom there,” said Lehne.Although it's tough for any coach to
speculate who’s going to come out ontop in the end, Lehne said Cameron isa real contender for theconference title. Butdon’t count out the Pi-rates.“I’m hopeful that we
stay healthy and ourkids play well, and Ihope we’re right in thatmix when we comedown to the end,” saidLehne.

The Pirates foot-ball team will hopeto combine a stellaroffensive line with aquality backfieldthis season. Oncethose two elementsmesh, Grantsburgcould be a very dan-gerous team. They'llalso have a solid de-fense this year, as itshowed during a 7-6loss in Spooner intheir first game ofthe season. – Photoby Larry Samson

LUCK – The Luck Cardinals earneda playoff berthlast season aftermoving from theLarge Lakelandand into theSmall Lakeland. It was a classicyear of footballlast season as theCardinals re-newed their ri-valry withFrederic, and thetwo teams metfor the first time in 17 years. That con-test ended in a 20-17 win for theVikings, despite a 17-0 halftime leadfor Luck. The two teams won’t be seeing each
other this fall until the second-to-lastgame of the season, in early October, and it could turn out to be a confer-ence title game. There’s a lot of com-
petition in the SmallLakeland this year andmany coaches are look-ing at Frederic, North-wood-Solon Springs andShell Lake to be top con-tenders. But that’s not tosay Luck won’t be rightin the mix.Coach Don Kendzior,
in his ninth season as a
head coach for the Cards, has ninewinning seasons, and four conferencechampionships to boot, includingeight playoff appearances. Overall,Kendzior says this year’s team hassize and depth, as well as overall teamspeed andwork ethic, which is a goodstart for any high school football team. There are at least 10 returning play-
ers who saw considerable action lastseason including Evan Armour, BenKufalk, Cole Engstrand, Hunter Wil-son, Brodie Kunze Karsten PetersenJoe Christenson, Jacob LaDuke, JohnDenny and Kyle Hunter. Just three ofthose players are seniors on a rosterwith a dozen juniors and about thesame number of sophomores andfreshmen.Kendzior said the Cardinals will
look to finish in the top half of the con-ference, and it also appears early onthat Luck High School is going to con-tinue a strong tradition of football.
The Cardinals football team is set to take on the Small Lakeland Con-ference with speed and depth. They not only looked exceptional duringtheir scrimmage, the Cardinals pulled away with a huge 73-22 win overBirchwood in their first game of the season. – Photo by Larry Samson

ST. CROIX FALLS – Now in his fifthyear as St. Croix Falls head footballcoach, Rod Sempf has a lot of praisefor his latest crew.“They really
have a sort oflunch-pail men-tality” he said.“They workhard on and offthe field. I don’thave to give ‘emmuch of a gid-dyup. They justwork hard.”While he said
there won’t be a lot of new schemes forthe Saints, he does see some of theplayers moving into new positions, which could surprise some of the theirpast opponents. As for the returning Saints, Sempf
has several three-year starters, includ-ing Erik Segelstrom, Erik Swensonand Jake Rademacher. “Obviously,we’ll look to them to lead the team,”he said, also noting Ben Clausen in thesecondary, and improved play at theline.“I really look to a bunch of guys con-
tributing this season,” he said. “We’regoing to be really diversified on of-fense.”Last season, the Saints had three
backs with around or over 700-yardsrushing, which Sempf said would be alikely scenario again for 2011. “We’vegot a lot of guys who can carry theball. Just a lot of skilled guys, and allwilling to work.”The Saints start the season with
plenty of hard opponents, includingOsceola, Ladysmith and Cameron, al-though Sempf thinks the Lakelandwill be strong across the board, and heexpects some solid, close competitionall season long.“I don’t think there’s one dominant
group this year,” he said. “I reallythink everyone should be able to com-pete. Unity’s got a lot of guys back andgood athletes. Webster, also. I think it’shard to pick. I don’t know, I wouldn’tbe surprised if any of the teams winconference.”Sempf has high praise for his coach-
ing staff this season, with GrantBelisle, Paul Gilbert, Rob Bullard, anda new coach in Chris Wallace, as wellas lots of helpers and volunteers alongthe way.“We’re looking forward to having
a great year. Working with parents, fans and having a good season for St.Croix Falls,” he said. “It’s a goodgroup of guys. They’ve really raisedthe bar for expectations.”

SIREN – The Dragons are eyeing anopportunity tojoin other smallschools duringthe 2012 seasonin eight-manfootball, but willbe taking 11 ath-letes to the grid-iron in 2011.While the team isshort a bit onnumbers due toa few nagginginjuries, theDragons should surprise a few thisseason with some talented athletes.Second-year Siren coach Bill Hoeflerwas excited during the team's firstweek of practice leading up to theirfirst scrimmage of the season, and the
team does possess afew threats. Whenasked what he’smost excited for thisseason, Hoeflersaid,“The versatility of
my players to playmultiple positions, and we have somegood speed at im-portant positions.”Leading receiver
Andrew Brown will be a deep threatthis season for the Dragons and wasan All-Conference selection last year, and behind the arm of Elijah Hinze, the Dragons will almost certainly havea few tricks up their sleeves to get theball into the end zone. Other key re-turning players from last season in-clude Evan Oachs, Isaac Wegner,Murdock Smith, Will Haines and ShayJohnson. Hoefler said the eight seniorplayers will be the biggest strengths ofthe team this season, but at least five
other starters are underclassmen, whohave limited varsity experience. There’s a lot to build on from last
season’s team, who finished 3-6, andHoefler thinks the conference is rela-tively balanced this year.“We, as a team, hope to improve on
last year's record and bemore compet-itive in all games we play,” Hoeflersaid.

BALSAM LAKE – The Unity Eaglesfootball squad has a solid returningcorps of talent this season, and theymay be looking a little different thisseason, as they have spent lots of timecond i t i on i ngand utilizing theweight roomand exercise fa-cilities, accord-ing to headcoach Dave An-derson.Now in his
fifth year as thelead man, with11 years of Eagle
football coaching involvement, he isconfident this is a team to be proud ofand rally behind.“We have great team chemistry this
year,” he said, noting that while theyhave plenty of new players to fill theshoes of some talented graduationlosses, they all have worked very hardto make the school, team and fansproud.Anderson was a familiar face this
summer at various village boards. He's promoting a plan to bring theUnity Eagle homecoming celebrationback into Milltown, Centuria and Bal-sam Lake with parades, events and aswelling of pride in a celebrated ath-letic program, hoping to spread thatred, white and blue Eagle spirit acrossthe district. And you can expect the gridiron on
Richard O. Klatt Field to be where thatEagle pride will shine.“Our offense, defense and special
teams are all new this year,”Andersonsaid, without giving too much away.He knows they have numerous hur-
dles to overcome in the Large Lake-land Conference, which is loadedwithtalented squads. “St. Croix Falls andGrantsburg are always big games forus,” he said.Anderson is confident in the dedica-
tion to their cause of his players, espe-cially the veterans.“All of our seniors will play a big
part for our team this year,” he said.“Most have had one or two years ofstarting experience.”He thinks that aforementioned con-
ditioning will only add to their confi-dence come game time. “The amountof time that our players put into theweight room over the summer is a bigstrength,” Anderson said. “Teamsshould not overlook Unity in theLarge Lakeland this year.”Although they might have a hard
time looking over them.

played their bestgame of the sea-son, and it was awonderful wayto to end the2010 season,”said coachJeromie Voeltzafter the win. He later added that it was a big win
for his senior squad, who has sincegraduated, but nine new seniors willlook to lead the team to victory thisfall, and their leadership on the fieldat the start of the season could set awinning tone throughout the year.“We are excited about the possibili-
ties of our football team,” Voeltz said.Seniors Randy Rankin, Taylor Heinz
Aaron Clay,Austin Bork, Brad Krause,Josh Baer, Ben Leef, Anthony Diet-meier and Garrett Eichmanwill be theforces keeping the Tigers together thisseason, as the roster boasts just threejuniors, 17 sophomores and a dozen
freshmen. While it could be a lean yearfor the Tigers, don’t expect them to bean easy out. Voeltz said there will be asome new faces in different positions, but the teams success will ultimatelyrest on the shoulders of the entireteam. On the team's biggest strengththis season, Voeltz said, “Our willing-ness to work hard and together.”The Tigers opened up their regular

FREDERIC – The Fredericvolleyball team finishedwith just one conferencewin last season in whatturned out to be a verytough conference, but there’s a senseof optimism thisseason, as manyof their returningstarters are back, with a little moreexperience. “I have four

GRANTSBURG– The Grantsburgvolleyball team isin good handsafter coach BillMorrin decided totake a leave of ab-sence this fall, mostly to help hisdaughter Kortneystart her collegiatevolleyball career, and focus on otherprofessional goals. The 2011 coach, Deb Alla-

the system well, and is morethan ready for the upcom-

forward to work-ing with a pack ofkids who are ath-letic, eager, posi-tive andhardworking ,”Allaman-Johnsonsaid.Along with Al-
laman-Johnson isa new assistantcoach, Nell
Polzine, a former Pirate vol-leyball player who helpedGrantsburg earn their firststate championship in 2001.Both coaches were collegiatevolleyball players and ex-celled at that level.
The Pirates lost afew threats to gradua-tion last season, but ofthe 40-plus athletesout for volleyball thisyear, 13 are on thevarsity. Two of those13, include seniorsCarly Larson and GabWitzany, who Alla-man-Johnson sayscould play anywhereon the court. NikkiTicknor along withthe two seniors arecaptains this seasonand are expected tobring experience andleadership to theteam.“They bring posi-

strengths come weak-nesses, and the Pirateswill have quite a fewfresh faces on theteam, which brings abit of inexperience atthe varsity level. Theteam lost a bit of height, butthere’s no doubt Grantsburgwill be in the hunt for theconference title.Nikki Ticknor

Theywork hard, there areno attitudes, andeveryone supportseach other in allways. I believe thatthis group should doquite well this sea-son,” stated third-year returning headcoach Stacie Hoff. “Ihave four starters returning,so hopefully they can staypositive and I believe theywill do well.”The Saints have plenty of
new faces this season, whichmakes this season a bit of asurprise for fans and oppo-nents. “I have a very young
group this season,” Hoffsaid. “I only have four jun-iors and four seniors.Twenty of the girls are un-derclassman. That is reallypromising for the future!”Like all Lakeland coaches,
Hoff faces the Grantsburgjuggernaut, and sees themas a key opponent: “Yeah, obviously Grantsburg is
tough,” she said. “But nowthat we are back to threeconferences, I believe thatLuck is really going to be
tough to beatthis year, aswell.”Hoff said we
should watchfor seniorsAlexis Ericksonand Sarah Pet-znick - who ledthe team in killsand aces lastseason. She alsosaid to keep aneye out for jun-
iors Natalie Sempf andblocking specialist SydneyGeisness. “Our strengths aregoing to be hitting andblocking. We have our keyblockers and hitters return-ing.”One weakness may be
that they have a vacancy atsetter. “We lost our setterfrom the previous two sea-sons and haven’t filled herposition, as of yet. We dohave some options, buthaven’t declared who isgoing to step up and fill thatrole ... I believe that we havethe potential to finish up inthe top as well once we fig-ure out our roles and theseason progresses.”Sarah Petznick

LUCK – This promises tobe an interesting season forthe Cardinal volleyball pro-gram. It might seem like adifferent approach undernew skipper JenNelson. She wasthe former assis-tant coach, andhas almost adecade of JuniorOlympic coach-ing under her belt- many of thoseyears with someof this season’splayers.“This team has
an amazing pas-sion and commitment to thegame,” Nelson said. “Theyplay with passion and pur-pose, and aren’t afraid toleave some skin on thefloor.”The Cards are pulling up
and across from all grades, focusing on positions andexperience, while also ac-knowledging their youth.“Graduation claimed a fewbut our core key playersfrom last year remain intactand ready to play,” Nelsonsaid. Playing in the formidable
West Lakeland means thereare no mediocre opponents, and the new format meansthey play all of them twice,so every match counts. While some coaches mayfeel overwhelmed in a con-
ference so rich intalent, Nelsonlooks at it the otherway, stating theywere “fortunate tobe among so manyquality teams ...which will help usprepare for region-als. The season istoo short!” In spite of its ab-
breviated length,she said they are
looking forward to an excit-ing season and that she isamazed at the parental and
community support for theteam and program. “This year’s team brings a
higher level of game experi-ence to the court,” she said.“Many of the girls spent agreat deal of time improv-ing in the off-season. Theyhave a real commitment tothe team.” Expect to see the Cards
make some waves and takesome names along the way,as they go by the philoso-phy of “Citius, Altius, For-tius!” Swifter, higher, stronger.

SIREN – The Dragons vol-leyball team is actually quiteexperienced this seasonunder third-yearcoach Caryn Stan-ford, but the teamis still young. Thatdoesn’t meanSiren should beoverlooked, how-ever, as many ofthese girls havebeen workinghard over thesummer, andStanford can al-ready see the teamimprovements.“We’re having a good pre-
season,” said Stanford. “Alot of young girls are com-ing up and playingvery well. We have alot of experience com-
ing back, but it's young ex-perience.”The team's enthusiasm is
obvious, and even thoughthe team might have lost a
bit of senior lead-ership from lastseason, it hasn’tshowed.“We lost some
senior leadership, but actually theyounger girls thatare coming up arefilling in that spotnicely,” Stanfordsaid.Siren had a bit
of a rough yearlast season, pulling awaywith just three conferencewins, but with many of thegirls back again, with more
experience, Stan-ford feels that theteam is moving an-other step forwardin their efforts to bemore competitivein the conferencestandings. It alsohelps having atight-knit groupthat works well as ateam. “This group.
What’s unique isthat they have avery cohesive feelto them, and theyall seem to beworking well to-gether,” Stanfordsaid. The Dragons did
lose a bit of heightfrom last season, but Stanford is con-fident they’ll beable to counteractthat with the team'senthusiasm, andwillingness to com-pete.

BALSAM LAKE – TheUnity Eagles volleyballsquad may only have a fewupperclassmen this season, but they are deep in talent inother grades, and third-yearreturning head coach ChrisLesneski is confident histeam will make somewaves.“I really am excited about

The Eagles arematched againstsome of the mosttalented squadsin the region, and he said theyare hoping tomake every con-test count. “There is
never a nightwhen you can’tsay that we
don’t have to play well inour conference,” he said. “Ifyou don’t, you probably willget beat.” With over two decades of

also bright for the program, with a strong group ofyoung players coming upand good assistant coachesin Jennifer DeLozier (JV)and Cola Hickethier (C-squad).

BALSAM LAKE – The Unity/Luckcooperative tennis squad is hoping tomake this a memorable season. Withthree years under her belt, veteran headcoach Beth Fogarty also has a stronggroup across the board, and a solid sup-port staff in Tom and Jane Hoffman andveteran Unity tennis star Jessi Kutina. While her coaching staff is rich in tal-
ent and experience, Fogarty’s players aredefinitely a strength, as she noticed earlyon.
“I am excited to see the growing cama-raderie that the girls have shown al-ready this year,” Fogarty said. “We alsohave a lot of new players that haveproven their potential to the varsityteam this summer. I’m excited to seehow our new doubles teams work outtogether, as well as a strong singles lineup ready to take charge.” She thinks every school in the formi-
dable Middle Border Conference is a keyopponent. “We need to treat everymatch as the most important in order tobe competitive in our conference,” shesaid. The Unity/Luck squad has several
strong returning singles players in re-turning this year in Anna Ebensperger,Julie Franzel and Elizabeth Thuerkoff. “They have been giving each other a
run for their money already this seasonwith challenge matches,” Fogarty said.
“They’re provingto be a highthreat this sea-son.”While the
squad lost somekey seniors, shehas confidence inher new faces.“Every year,we’ve lost ahandful of sen-iors. Every year
we have also gained athletes new to thegame,” She said. “The first few matchesare going to be key for our new team-mates to get the experience needed tohelp them later in the season.”

WEBSTER – The Tigersfinished tied for secondplace in the conference lastseason behindGrantsburg, losingjust two conferencegames. They even-tually ended theirseason in the sec-ond round of theplayoffs to the Pi-rates. The Tigers had
experience on theirside as they startedsix seniors on aregular basis, butthings have changed a bitthis fall, as the team will beworking with just two sen-iors, which include SarahNyberg and Chelsea Larson. Both players filled in nicelylast season, recorded lots oftime on the varsity court, and should provide a lot ofleadership for the team. There are a handful of otherathletes who filled in lastyear as well, and coachMindy Widiker is lookingforward to seeing howthey’ll compete.“We’re excited to get the
season started, see howwe’ll match up with every-
body, and see how muchthey’ve grown and im-proved over time,” Widikersaid.Losing a trove of starting
seniors can leavea team searchingfor replacements, but the newcom-ers, according toWidiker, areready to go.“We’re young,
but they’re eagerand athletic,which is nice,and they’re will-ing to work hardand learn. So I
think that’ll be one of theirstrengths,” Widiker said. It’ll be a different sched-
ule too, for the Tigers, andthe other Lakeland Westteams, which include Fred-eric, Grantsburg, Luck, St.Croix Falls, Siren, Unity andWebster. Instead of playingconference foes just oncelike they did last season, teams will play each othertwice. So it’s anyone’s guesswho will come out on topthis season, but Webstercould be right in the mix.

GRANTSBURG – There’s a significantnumber of bright spots on the Grantsburgcross-country team this season, not onlyfor the boys, but also for the girls. CoachPaul Huskamp, who is in his eighth yearof coaching, even seemed a bit surprisedto see that he has twice the number of ath-letes to work with this season, as opposedto last. He’s even still trying to recruit afew players, but fornow, he’s already got15 boys and ninegirls. That means,he’ll have a full teamfor both. The boys, inparticular, have thehighest expectations.“I am really look-
ing forward to it.Last year, weweren’t expected tobe at state at all andwe took eighth. Thisyear, we plan to improve greatly on that,”Huskamp said. The boys lost one member of last year's
state qualifying team to graduation, butthe rest are back, including seniors Kyle
Roberts, Zack Arnold, Brendan Kutzand Daniel Biorn. Sophomore JacobOhnstad will likely round out thetop five in this year’s boys team, butHuskamp said several other new-comers are eyeing the sixth and sev-enth spots that are allowed to go tostate and compete. Many of thestarting core logged several milesover the summer as well.“Everybody will be pushing
everybody. We have good cohe-sion,” Huskamp said, adding that a
big part of the Pirate boys success will liein their ability to run as a pack. For the girls, only two of the nine have
running experience, including senior Kae-lah Maslow and sophomore Jaden Cook, but they could be competing at an experi-enced level by the end of the season.

ST. CROIX FALLS – Saints cross-coun-try head coach Jennifer Clemins is back. “Iam happy to return as the head coachagain this year after being on maternity.” While some schools have struggled to
fill a roster, it’s just the opposite forClemins. “We have one of our biggestteams this year, with many new faces:Erica Bergmann, Taylor Orton, JordanJohnson and JoleenGravelle. It will be apleasure to watchthem develop as theseason progresses.”Clemins thinks her
boys team will makean impact. “I thinkwe have a solidchance to becomethe Lakelandchamps, and ad-vance a few individ-uals - Alex Frey,Rashaud Kelash, and Henry Klein - on tothe state championships.”Clemins often calls the team a family,
and plans to build on that approach withassistant coach Tammi Braund and volun-teer coach Ryan Stridde. “We plan to in-corporate strength training circuitworkouts, more training games - to helpkeep the art of running fun.”
Returning seniors Alex Frey andRashaud Kelash will be the driving forcefor the boys, and just missed state lastyear. “Both earned All-Conference honorslast season and should easily do so againthis year ... we are going to work hard tomake sure they both make it [to state] thisyear.”For the ladies, All-Conference junior
Allie Holmdahl returns, as well as Au-tumn Erickson, who just missed out onAll-Conference honors. “They all emanatea sense of sportsmanship and a competi-tive edge that makes coaching them apleasure.” One downside is that Clemins has six
male seniors. “I’ll have to recruit a greatdeal for next year to make up for this loss. But I’m excited to be working with suchan amazing and dedicated group of stu-dent athletes. It should be an unforget-table season!”

BALSAM LAKE – There are some newfaces on the Unity/Luck cross-countrysquad this year, as the cooperative pro-gram has moved to new heights underfourth-year head coach Lori Anderson. They have a solid contingency of senior
boys, while their girls are generallyyounger this season. But they also haveplenty to look forward to in a sport that isknown for having strong runners atyounger grade levels.“The start of a new year is something I
regularly look for-ward to," Andersonsaid. “Things arefresh and everyonestarts over with aclean slate.”That clean slate
also means the possi-bility of some sur-prises this season, and Anderson saidthe team workedhard in the off-sea-
son, although most distance runners
know there is no “off season.”“I appreciate the growth the athletes
exhibit from the previous season,” shesaid. “Of course, I also eagerly look for-ward to what the seniors will choose todo in their final year of this program.”Unity’s exceptional swimming pool is
back up and running more efficientlythan ever this season, and Anderson hasbeen stressing it as a wonderful trainingtool that few teams have as an option.“It will be exciting to spend some
workout sessions in the pool,” she said, noting that she was very involved in var-
ious clinics and training regimens to helpdevelop her runners the best ways possi-ble.“Additionally, I again attended the
WCCCA Convention in Milwaukee lastJanuary, so plan to implement some of thevaluable ideas obtained from the clinicduring the season,” she said.Anderson is not one to rule any oppo-
nent out, and thinks this season will beproof positive of that. “Every opponent iskey,” she said. “I believe all athletes are inthe sport to give it their best effort andcompete to their highest ability so we gointo each meet expecting peak perform-ances from all schools.”
