Flu Season is Upon Us…
• Everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine every season.
Trick or Treat Safety
• Only go in well-lit areas.• Never go inside a
stranger’s home. • Drive carefully thru
neighborhoods• Travel in groups• Bring flash lights• Always inspect candy
before eating
Vehicle Checks• Check heaters,
defrosters & wipers • Add Wiper fluid for
colder weather• Check tire tread
• Stock Emergency kit in vehicle
• Have Brakes checked • Have oil filters
replaced
Car vs. Deer • There are
approximately 1.5 million deer-related car accidents annually
• There are roughly 200 fatalities
• The majority of these accidents occur between October and December.
Hunting Season• 1,000 people are
accidentally shot while hunting annually. About 100 of those accidents are fatal.
• On average 6 million deer are killed during the hunting season each year.
Turkey Time• Clostridium
perfringens is the second most common bacterial cause of food poisoning.
• Your food thermometer must reach a minimum internal temp of 165 degrees.
