WCPSS 100Yd Sprint Invitational
High School Kick-Off on
November 4th. The Strategic
Systems Big Southern Classic
Meet is here November 10-12,
featuring over 1100 swimmers.
Starting on Monday, November
13th, TAC is once again the
proud host to WCPSS High
School Swimming, hosting regular
season and championship meets
through February.

The Triangle Aquatic Center is
happy to introduce our fall events
calendar for 2017. We are
hosting a variety of events from
USA Swimming and High School
Swim Meets to the North
Carolina Senior Games to
Swimjitsu and more.
September kicks off with the
annual Fit & Able Plunge, Pedal,
Plod Sprint Triathlon on Sunday,
September 3rd. This year’s event
has more course offerings than
ever before. Next up, TAC once
again is host to the NC Senior
Games Swim Championship,
September 23rd. We round out
September with the 2017 TAC
TITANS Blue Green Intrasquad
Meet on September 30th-
October 1st as our TITANS kick-
off their 2017-2018 season.
October is loaded with a variety
of events starting with USA
Swimming’s Swimjitsu Obstacle
Course on October 8th. Come
and test your swim ninja skills!
On October 15th, TAC
welcomes back the Fitter and
Faster Tour, this time featuring
2016 Olympic Gold Medalist
Clark Smith. On October 28th,
TAC will celebrate our 10th
Anniversary with a Celebration
from 6-9pm that is open to the

TITANS Swim Academy is now
offering Adult TITANS and
Adult TITANS Fit!
The Triangle Aquatic Center is
passionate about teaching
everyone in the community
how to swim, and that includes
adults. It’s never too late to
learn how to swim!
Adult TITANS is perfect for
those 16 years and older who
have never had any previous
swim lessons and would like to
increase their confidence and
comfort in the water. These
group lessons allow you to go
at your own pace and are
taught by experienced
instructors.
Adult TITANS Fit is perfect for
those looking to increase their
swimming endurance, learn
advanced strokes, or simply
add swimming to their workout
routine! Adult TITANS is
offered Monday and
Wednesday from 8pm to 9pm,
and on Saturdays from
12:30pm to 1:30pm. Adult
TITANS Fit is offered Tuesday
and Thursday from 8pm to
9pm and on Sundays from
12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Lifeguard Certification/Re-Certification Blended Learning Classes
The Blended Learning version
of the ARC LG Certification
Course combines the online
learning and on-site sessions to
build on the same knowledge
and skills to train lifeguards to
act with speed and confidence
in emergency situation both in
and out of the water.
The online format allows
participants to complete the
interactive lessons on their
own time, allowing the
Instructor led sessions to
reinforce learning and
emphasize on skill building. All
sessions should be completed
48 hours prior to the first class.

Meet the TAC Staff - Rachel Price
CPR/AED & First Aid Classes
always has a great attitude and is
happy seeing her students im-
prove. “I get really happy when
my swimmers hit their goals so
then I can go and brag on them
to their parents!”
Rachel’s fun fact is that she once
won a watermelon eating
contest in Pittsburgh, PA.
During the summer she coaches
summer league and her swim
team calls her “Coach Roach”!
Rachel’s favorite past time is
swimming, freestyle especially.

our best Program Supervisors
and Swim Instructor. Rachel has
worked at TAC since January
2016. She is a Junior at NC
State University majoring in
Middle School Science
Education. Rachel’s hometown is
Roanoke Rapids, NC and now
spends her time here at TAC and at school.
Rachel really loves being a Swim
Instructor. She loves teaching
kids 7-10 year olds as well as the
adults students. “Adults are fun
to work with and see the

Upon successful completion of
this course you will receive a
digital certificate for Adult and
Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
valid for two years.
Classes are offered almost every
Saturday from 10-11am, and
every other Wednesday from 6-
7pm. Classes are $90 for the
general public, and $60 for
Wake County Educators and
Coaches. Participants must be
14 years old or older.

Triangle Aquatic Center is

be offering Adult and Pediatric
CPR, AED and First aid classes
to the public.
This course will prepare you to
recognize and care for a variety
of first aid, breathing, and
cardiac emergencies involving
adults, children and infants and
meets OSHA/workplace
requirements.
This is a blended learning course
including an online portion and
an instructor-led classroom skill
session.
Sarah has a passion for teaching
and coaching. She has also
taught numerous outdoor and
safety programs and wilderness
first aid.
Sarah is an avid outdoorsman,
crazy animal lover, dedicated
Jeep enthusiast, and is
unashamed to sing while
driving. She graduated
from WCU where she was a
member of the varsity tennis
team.

Meet Sarah Ryckman, TAC’s
new Aquatics Director.
She brings over 10 years of
aquatics and sports management
experience to TAC having
previously spent time with the
University of Notre
Dame Athletics and Recreation
Departments as the Program
Coordinator while also serving
on the Game Management staff.
Prior to Notre Dame,
Sarah worked for the United
States Coast Guard in Elizabeth
City, NC and the YMCA of
Australia.
In addition to having developed a
successful management career,
