Community Service Update
ITTHC has chosen to assist the BrokenArrow Neighbors Association (BAN) asthe focus of our Club’s on-goingcommunity service project. BAN is anonprofit organization and is celebratingits 33rd year of serving our localcommunity.
A big “thank you” to all those clubmembers who recently donated to the“Back to School Project”. If you didn’tget a chance to donate to this worthcause, we would welcome yourcontributions anytime as school suppliesare always needed throughout the entireyear.
As the season roll on, we are nowfocused on our second main project ofthe year which is our “ChristmasCollection”. Since the holiday seasonwill be arriving soon, it’s time to startthinking of how we can help others whoare less fortunate in our community.
This year like last year, we are askingclub members to donate canned goodsand/ or make money contributions to thiseffort. Any money collected will bematched by ITTHC and will be given toBAN to help with their “ChristmasBasket Distribution”. We will have a“BAN Christmas Collection Can” forthis purpose at our upcoming “Fall ClubMember Hunt” as well as at our regularOctober, November & December clubmeetings.
As a reminder, all money collected willbe matched by the ITTHC so yourmonetary contributions will result in“Double the Money” for Broken ArrowNeighbors.
Thank you for helping with this veryworthy cause and “Happy Hunting” toyou all!
Chairman: Jean Dick and MargeWierzchowski

Lloyd Coke returning a class ring.A couple of months ago Lloyd was waterdetecting at Oologah Lake and found this classring. The date and school was 2014 at Claremoreplus the girls name was inscribed inside of thering. Lloyd tried to find out more informationabout the girl but was having a hard time doing soso he asked for help from John & Jody Hamilton.Jody, being a teacher, contacted the Claremoreschool system but they did not have any more infoon this girl plus they didn’t show her graduating. They found her on Facebook except it was aprivate account. They saw where the

She did call John and he had her describe the ring.John, satisfied that it was the ring set it up for her tocome to the Tulsey Town Treasure Hunters Club and topick up the ring from Lloyd. The club supplied hamburgers, hot links, hot dogs, buns, condiments, & chips. Roger Eaton againhandled the job of cooking. Good job Roger, Thank You! Thanks to John Freeman for picking up &returning to the ITTHC storage building the grill & tables.
There were 25 members standing in line to chow down on burgers, hot links, hot dogs, and foodbrought by club members. Thanks to all those bringing the outstanding side dishes and desserts. Ifyou went away hungry at this outing, again it was your own fault.

The tokens were painted 4 color WheatCents, numbered Jefferson Nickels, two types of painted numbered brass slugs, & painted/numbered/lettered Gallagher Carbine Civil War Bullets molded using Civil War lead from fired bullets andmolded in a Gallagher bullet mold that was found at Battle of Jenkins Ferry Arkansas.
When the start signal was given there were 18 water hunters frothing the water. After 1 hour+ ofhunting there was 1 Silver Half token & 12 Mercury Dime tokens not found. A small crew went backto hunting: Lee Wierzchowski found the last Silver Half token & 4 more Mercury Dime tokens, DavidMorris found 2 more Mercury Dime tokens, Wally Dick found 1 more Mercury Dime token, and KenFanning found 1 more Mercury Dime token. And to top it off Lee Wierzchowski found 1 moreMercury Dime token in the parking lot! Huh? Really!

Liberty Half, & 1 prize token.
The winner of $23.00 in the 50-50 Raffle was John “JJ” Freeman.
Again, one of the main reasons for this type of outing, besides the food of course, is to give non-waterhunting members a chance to try their hand at it. Also, the fun and fellowship of being with peoplethat enjoy the same hobby.
Again, if you missed this outing, you missed a good one. Don’t miss the next one!

Gary Young reports that this was the 10th year for doing this hunt. The weatherwas super and with lots of kids. We had a good turnout from all three clubs. Therewere several metal detectors and some were even dropped off for us to use.Overall, this years hunt was a BIG success as have been the ones in the past. GaryYoung mentioned that the kids had a great time as did the adults that were there tohelp. Gary and Cathy want to thank all of you that came out and helped and asalways if you could not come you missed the fun but can do so next year.
