    CRITICALLY READ FOLLOWING TEXT

    In August, Starbucks directs baristas in the southeastern United States to e-mail a coupon for a free iced coffee to friends and family members. However, e-mail knows no geographic boundaries and, worse, can be printed repeatedly.

    After the e-mail spreads to every corner of the country and is reproduced, Starbucks pulled back the offer. Resultantly, a dissatisfied customer named Kelly Coakley filed a $114 million class-action lawsuit against the company.

    QUESTION:

    Place yourself in decision maker at Starbucks; how would you make a better decision to avoid the situation stated above.
