2015 I N L A N D E M P I R E S L E D D O G A S S O C I A T I O N FALL
It was an amazingly busy summer for many of us mushers. Unfortunately many of us, our friends, and communities around the country were deeply affected by this year’s devastating fire season. As such we were pushed to take a much needed hiatus, but that didn’t slow down our
work behind the scenes! We’re looking forward to getting back into the swing of fall and hitting the trails with all of you!
We have a lot of exciting news coming up! With the addition of many new members (WELCOME TO ALL!) and
some changes to our upcoming Dirt Rondy Race Event we can’t wait to share with you all! We are genuinely looking forward to racing, socializing, and reconnecting with all of you throughout the season.
Its been a busy summer for the IESDA members!

Well first off I want to say Thank You to every one for having faith in me to lead this club for another year. The first year as Club President went by real fast. I think a, we are starting to see some of the changes I was referring too in my first newsletter message. Again not everything happens overnight but will happen over time and we’ll see what works and doesn’t work for us as a club. I am excited to have added a few classes to the Dirt Rondy coming up and hope we can continue to grow this event as time goes. This year will be a big year for the club as the club itself will be celebrating its
50th year as a club, 40 years as a Idaho Nonprofit.
Moving forward I’m hoping mother nature plays nice this year for our snow season as the NWS says with 98% certainty (and well all know how they wont even give that much for rain, when its raining outside ) that we are going to experience a Super El Nino year. What that supposedly means for us, is that it’ll stay warm through the end of November and that the winter will be warm and wet (YUK). Well personally I hope they are wrong as I’m sure most of you do too. None the less IESDA will continue with our normal plans and just have to adapt when needed.
Hope to see you on the trails and at the Dirt Rondy November 7th and 8th.

RICHARD AND MAUD HANCOCK ARE PLESED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THEY ARE NOW THE NEW OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF SLED DOG CENTRAL!
Taylor, Tumnatki’s Taylor at Dashing, is the newest member of the Dashing Kennel (Jill and Bob Wilson). Taylor is a three old Siberian husky from running lines out Prineville, Oregon. Taylor is a cousin to our Iris, a 4 year old in the kennel and her maternal grand sire is the same dog that sired two of Jill’s current leaders (Cola and McGee). That dog, Tumnatki’s For Sale by Owner, Fisbo, is known for passing along a focused intensity and great desire to please. That combined with his considerable physical aUributes have made him influen#al within the lines. Taylor’s sire Kraken’s Lex was an accomplished leader for Al Stead (Northome Kennels), leading his ONAC teams a few years ago. Lex aker he was sold to Karen Yeargain con#nued to run on her teams both in lead and other posi#ons. Taylor comes to us as a started leader. Aker joining us in March of 2015 she has been training with Jill’s over the spring and now fall. Her focus and drive is absolutely impressive and her sweet nature makes her a loving companion. Her hallmark though is an almost zen quality, I don’t know how to describe her except to say she is very centered, very contained. She is friendly, calm and confident. She seeks to understand what it is I want. And of course she LOVES to run in harness. Those are all traits that have made outstanding leaders for me in the past and I have high hopes for Taylor in the future!
