ALeTTO BROs
famous for the creation of fine jewellery and
the use of exceptional gems, aletto brothers
can trace their roots back to the turn of the
19th century, when current director, alfredo
aletto’s great grandfather was commissioned to
create a special jewel to commemorate the
opening of the eiffel Tower. a family business,
multiple generations embrace the opportunities
that a smaller world offers, internationally seek-
ing interesting and exceptional gems to incorpo-
rate into beautifully crafted jewels.
BIRks
canada's premier jewellery retailer was found-
ed in 1879, in Montreal, canada, by Henry birks.
birks quickly became the prime destination for
discerning jewellery connoisseurs. The 20th
century saw prominent jewellers ellis brothers
and Ryrie incorporated with the birks name. by
the late twentieth century, canadian diamonds
had become a central part of the birks engage-
ment ring business. birks continues to be a
leader in the canadian jewellery industry, and
the name Maison birks was unveiled in 2013.
BLAnCpAIn
In 1735, Jehan-Jacques blancpain founded the
brand bearing his name, which is now the
world's oldest watchmaking brand, and, with a
focus on traditional watch movements, contin-
ues to feature the skills of the watchmaker.
In 1926, the manufacture started marketing the
first automatic wristwatch. by 1930, blancpain
adapted the system to watches of small size,
and launched the world's first women's auto-
matic watch.
One of blancpain's most popular models is the
fifty fathoms, launched in 1953. Worn by
Jacques-Yves cousteau, among others. The fifty
fathoms was a standard among divers, and has
recently been revived.
The introduction of the quartz movement
inspired blancpain to focus on the traditional
movement and the production of "grande com-
plication" wristwatches. This focus produced
renewed interest in the brand, and revitalized
blancpain as an important luxury product.
blancpain boutiques have opened in major cities
around the world.
BOUCheROn
frédéric boucheron wished to be the watch-
maker of “Joyful Hours” and, through this vision,
created watches that celebrate life’s special
moments. established in 1866, the Maison
quickly developed a reputation for timepieces
and joyful jewels featuring animals, and textile-
like treatment of precious metals.
1900 at the universal exhibition in Paris, The
Maison boucheron received the gold medal and
was established as one of the forerunners of the
art Nouveau movement.
among the illustrious clients of boucheron: ava

ry set made of aquamarine stones and dia-
monds, later purchased by andy Warhol. Sarah
