Mom & Baby Stretch-FitThis class is for moms with babies between the ages of 6 wks – 12 months. It’s an integrated class so you and your baby can interact and spend time bonding during your workout. Your baby has an important role in this class. As you hold them (in arms or a carrier) throughout most of the exercises, you will learn how to properly carry & support both your body weight and theirs. And any napping babies are easily substituted by a 10-15 lb dumbbell, which will be provided! Each class will start and end with a movement-inspired song that you can even sing at home. Want to be featured on the cover of the next Waterloo Program and Activities Guide? We are running an exciting new photo contest. Submit a photo you feel best depicts winter in Waterloo. The winning photo will appear on the cover of the 2013 Winter Guide. Contest runs from August 19 to September 30, 2013.

Contest guidelines:1. Photos must be submitted to the City of Waterloo by Sept. 30, 2013. Late submissions will not be accepted.2. Submissions must be emailed to [email protected]. 3. Each submission must include the applicant’s name, address, telephone number and email address and a

description of the location of where the photo was taken.4. Photos must be submitted as follows:

JPG or TIFF file format 5 x 7” print size 300 DPI 3Mb – 9Mb in file size.

5. Photos that have people in them will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by a photo consent form. (Please email [email protected] for a copy of the form.)

6. Photos that contain inappropriate material will not be entered or accepted at the discretion of the city. 7. The winner will be notified directly by the city in early October. 8. There is no limit to the number of photos each person can submit.

SWIM Waterloo!Fall Swim LessonsJoin our exciting program this fall, taught by qualified and enthusiastic staff. We have many choices including Parent and Tot, Preschool, Learn-to-Swim programs for children, youth and adults, and Leadership courses!

In addition, we offer specialty registered waterfit classes such as Diaper Fit and Pre & Post Natal. We even have Triathlon training—hone your race technique over the fall season!

Children’s Dance | Birthday PartiesA CREATIVE APPROACH TO DANCE!

DANCE CRAZE n Join in our recreational co-ed dance classes for children held

at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex and Albert McCormick Community Centre.

n Our recreational co-ed dance classes are designed to introduce children to various dance forms in a fun and creative atmosphere.

n Fee Assistance available to Waterloo residents. Applications are available online and must be submitted prior to registration for approval.

n Your instructor will hand out theme day information on the first day of class.

n All classes will host an Open House on the last class for friends and family to attend.

1. Internet Registration— expressreg.waterloo.ca In order to use this service, you will require a Family PIN and a Client Number for each family member. Call 519-886-1177 prior to registration to set up your account. (Internet registration is available 24 hours, but account setup may only be done during WMRC & RIM Park office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. 7 days a week.) Then visit the ExpressReg site, click on the Activities tab, and follow the prompts to register for the program(s) of your choice.

2. In Person Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex and RIM Park are open daily for registrations from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Adult Recreation Centre, Wing 404 RCAFA Adult Centre, and Albert McCormick Community Centre are open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

3. Touch-Tone Telephone Service at 519-747-8585 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. —7 days a week In order to use this service, you will require a Family PIN and a Client Number for each family member. If you have not received these numbers, call 519-886-1177 prior to registration to set up your account. IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning January 1, 2014, touch-tone telephone service will be discontinued.

Methods of Payment: Cheques, Credit Cards, Cash, Interac Direct Payment Touch Tone Service and ExpressReg Internet Registration payments may only be made by credit card. The City of Waterloo accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Changes to our system have improved the speed of ExpressReg, and allowed for further registration options including private lesson online registration and online program withdrawals. Fee Assistance Leisure Access Program Fee assistance is available to Waterloo residents with low income participating in City of Waterloo and affiliated minor sports and arts programs. To apply for Fee Assistance, you must complete an application form* and submit it prior to registration. Once approved, you will receive a Leisure Access Card to show at the time of registration to verify the fee assistance payment.
