Faith That Can Move Mountains!

Mt 21:21-22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the

fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. "And whatever things you ask in prayer,

believing, you will receive."

How many of you have ever been able to go up into the mountains?

▪What did you think? Did it take your breath away when you looked out? Did it make you feel just a little bit smaller?▪I can remember as a kid driving for

what seemed like forever to go see my grandmother that lived in the mountains!▸After getting to town, we drove forever to

get up the mountain!

What is the largest thing in this world to try to move?

▪Other than the earth itself, I would have to say it is a mountain hands down! ▸There are trees so large you can drive

through them!▸Snakes as long as a school bus!▸Fish large enough to swallow men!▪But, yet all of these are far smaller

than a mountain!

Tonight we will not be moving real mountains, but yet something far

greater!▪Tonight we will be studying about faith

that makes “all things possible!”▪The Christian life both begins and must

end with faith!▸Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to

please Him...▸Rev 2:10 ... Be faithful until death, and I will

give you the crown of life.

I. The Impossible!▪I am sure we all use this word way too often!

Yet, do we understand what it means? ▸Impossible = not able to occur, or be done;

very difficult to deal with (Oxford) ▪Have any of you heard the song by Joe

Nichols “The Impossible?”▸Unsinkable ships sink!▸Unbreakable walls break!▸Unbendable steel bends!▪We understand what is and isn’t impossible!

With God all things are possible!▪That is amazing and truly brings hope!▸Mt 17:19-20 Then the disciples came to Jesus

privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?" So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.▸Mt 21:21 So Jesus answered and said to them,

"Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done

Faith wins every time, because God wins every time!

▪When we trust God He will always take care of us!▪There is nothing in our lives, even

those things that seem like mountains that God cannot move if we will trust Him!▸The problem is that too many times we

try to move them alone and we fail every time!

II. The Immoveable!▪Have any of you read or heard a story

of a mother or father or someone being able to do something impossible?▸The stories about the child trapped under

a car and them being able to move it?▸There are times people can do some

pretty amazing things!▪But there are other times when all

hope is lost!

Are the miracles in the Bible real?▪There are people on the history channel

all the time trying to reason away the miracles in the Bible, but that doesn’t make them any less true!

▪We need to remember “where” our strength lies, and who really has all power!▸Phil. 4:13▸Eph. 6:10-18▪1Jn 4:4 You are of God, little children, and

have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

III. The Imaginable!▪I have never been much of a dreamer, but

when I do, they are often pretty crazy and I wonder how my mind even comes up with this kind of stuff! ▸The reason I bring this up is because I am

sure everyone here could come up with some pretty amazing ideas, stories & etc but what I hope for us to understand is that with God on our side it get even better!

▪Eph 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

If a man told you that he could move a mountain what would you say?

▪Now if the one that made the mountain told you that He could move it? And then that you also could move it if you would simply trust Him!

▪Is there something in your life that you cannot even imagine how you will get over it, then trust God and remember to have faith!▸We may not understand it, we may have no

idea how to face it, but we can overcome it with faith!

Conclusion:▪It is time we remember that the mountain

is mighty to us but not to our Maker!▪Where is your faith night? Have you

come to allow God to show up in undeniable ways in your life? Or are you still trying to make it alone?

▪If you are not yet a child of God, then today is the day to act on faith and watch God move the biggest mountain!

▪Some are mountains climbers, we are called to be mountain movers!
