The tomb is empty. God’s love is stronger than death. This we cele-brate. This we live, for we are God’s Easter people. Easter frees us to live fully as God’s beloved children: Freed from worry. Freed from our insecurities. Freed from all that separates us from one another, and from God. Freed to forgive as we have been forgiven. Freed to work for justice. Freed to speak the truth in love. Freed to serve. Who are we? We are God’s Easter people, dying and rising daily in the waters of Baptism so that God’s res-urrection power might flow through us into all the world. Live it! Share it! Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this wondrous adventure? Maybe they’re just wait-ing for an invitation from you! Grace and Peace,

The J.O.Y. Choir, (Jesus, Others and You) Faith’s children’s choir, will conclude their semester with a spe-

cial presentation, “It’s a New Day!” during worship on Sun-day, April 24 at the 8:30 and 11:00 am worship services. Please plan to a end as the kids live out and proclaim through music and drama Jesus’ com-mand that we love one another. That evening, we celebrate the regular 6:00 pm service with The

Service of Healing as part of the liturgy.

Bach Vespers takes place within the context of a Lutheran Worship Service, giving us a glimpse of the music in rela on to its intended ecclesias cal purpose. J. S. Bach’s cantata Ich habe genug (I have enough) is built on the words of Simeon which proclaim one of Chris anity’s central tenets that, in Christ, we share an abundance of gi s and, therefore we have all we need. Psalm 30 by Thom-as White is a song that begins with lament and then transforms into victory: “You have turned my mourning into dancing." The program of the Bach Vespers is designed to enable us to reflect on the joys and sorrows of our past and to remind us that music and the arts can be a perpetual source of healing.

Bishop Ga jen of the Indi-ana-Kentucky Synod will be the guest speaker. Find out more at: harstadarts.org.

Our Final Step Your Jus ce Ministry Team has done a lot of work since we began this journey last fall. Faith is represented by at least one person on each of the three working commi ees of BUILD and all three of the steering commi ees. We are all strongly commi ed to finding a just solu on to each of the three issues: 1) capping payday lending interest rates at 36%; 2) making all neighborhoods safe from violence; 3) finding ways to make mely access to mental health care. Having come almost full circle means that it is me for BUILD’s annual NEHEMIAH ACTION ASSEMBLY. This is when we bring a large group of people together to confront our community decision-makers to make our demands known (as Nehemiah did for his people). The Ac on isn’t a me for rowdy, rude behavior. It is instead, a me for each of us to act on our Biblical impera ve to “love mercy, do jus ce, and walk humbly with our God.” It is also a response to the Great Commandment.
