Spring Fling on April 9, 2016 With many new residents coming to Fairway Estates in the past few years, many of whom are comfortable on social media sites, we are hearing loud and clear that get-togethers at Lake Saundra are a great way to meet your neighbors, find playmates for your kids, trade restaurant reviews, and enjoy some of the best balmy weather of the year. We haven’t settled on a theme yet, but plan on a chance to celebrate spring for a few hours and send the snowbirds off in style in 2016. Women’s Club News The next women’s club luncheon is Monday, February 15, 2016. We are asking for new and “gently used” dog items to donate to the Dunedin Dog Rescue. If you would like to help, we have a special request for USA-made chicken jerky or “tough toys” from Big Lots or Ross. Go to the Fairway Estates Facebook page for more details. Fairway Focus Fairway Estates Community Association January 2016 Strengthening the sense of community and fostering communication among neighbors. www.fairwayestates.org Comm. Eggers to Speak at Annual Meeting, Monday, Feb. 1 Please join us at Dunedin Country Club on Monday, Feb. 1, for our annual meeting, beginning at 7:00 pm. After a brief business meeting and election of officers, County Commissioner Dave Eggers, former mayor of Dunedin, will speak to us for about twenty minutes. His range of topics will most likely include county-wide preparations for the threat of tornadoes during an unusually active El Nino this spring, and improvements to the Dunedin Causeway area. As in years past, light refreshments will be avail- able. We look forward to seeing you. If you haven’t yet paid your $40 association dues, you can do so at the meeting. Agenda Call to order Pledge of Allegiance Introduction of board members Acceptance of nominations to board Election of 2016 Board of Directors Approval of minutes from 2015 annual meeting Officer and chairperson reports New business Program: County Comm. Reminder We are now close to sending about half of our residents their news-letter by email rather than through the U.S. Mail. Even with our bulk mail permit, the printing and mailing costs are substantial. If you are still receiving a hard copy but could switch over to an email version, it’s a win-win for all of us.
