Rest assured the walls of this stately old building “dating back to the 1800’s” have many stories to tell, but the real story today, is about the contemporary food served up inside the old brick walls that would stand up to any Napa restaurant that I have been to. Prior to dining, “My Guy” and I took the stairs up to the lounge, to enjoy a before dinner cocktail. Upstairs we met Rochelle, a friendly and informative bartender. She took some time to tell us about the building’s history. She explained that parts of the ornate bar are actually part of the original restaurant, Josiah Wings. Before we went downstairs to dine, we learned that it is a full service bar and any of the items on the dining room menu can be ordered, as well as a special menu that includes steamed mussels, calamari, burger and fries, and a New York Steak Sandwich for those who are looking for a less formal dinner. For those looking to party, the lounge also features a DJ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 9:00 p.m to 1:15 a.m, with music ranging from 80’s to current hip hop and R&B.

We were seated and greeted by our server, Madeline. She reviewed the menu with us thoroughly, and let us know that Chef Soo Song’s recommendations for that evening were the Seafood Risotto, the Muscovy Duck, and the Filet Mignon. I ordered the Filet, while “My Guy” was feeling a little more adventurous and chose Duck. We chose to order the 3 course meal, and for our first course, “My Guy” chose the Caesar Salad, which he felt needed a bit more dressing, and I chose the Caprese Salad, drizzled with the perfect amount of fresh balsamic vinaigrette and a slight bit of fresh beet – EXCELLENT!“My Guy’s Duck, was pan roasted and served over roasted vegetables and potatoes, and was topped with a roasted pineapple habanero sauce. The pineapple habanero sauce complimented the duck perfectly. “My Guy” went out on a limb with the Duck, and this will now be his first choice on our next visit. My pan roasted Filet was cooked exactly to my liking, and served with a port wine tarragon sauce, potatoes au gratin, mushrooms, and a

grilled asparagus that truly changed my mind about asparagus prepared in this way. It was crisp and delicious. It was a generous portion of meat, almost double the size of the Filet’s I have ordered at other steakhouses. The third course was dessert. Presentation was over the top!!!! The portion was perfect to satisfy a sweet tooth after a good meal. “My Guy” is a chocoaholic, and so the obvious choice was the Chocolate Slab, while I went with the Rum Infused Tiramisu.Discovering Main Street Bar & Grill in our own backyard, with a California Cuisine style menu ranging from Gnocchi with a tomato cream sauce, to an herb crusted Pork Loin topped with sautéed cinnamon apples, is like finding a gem in Solano County. It truly is a gourmet restaurant without the drive. The restaurant was a bit quiet for a Friday night, but based on my dining experience, there should be a line out the door. Tue - Fri, Lunch 11 am - 2 pm and Dinner 4:30 pm - 9 pm. Saturday, Dinner Only 4:30 pm – 9 pm. They are closed Sunday and Monday
