The number of positive COVID-19 cases in school this week has eased off somewhat but following advice from Public Health England we have scaled back and/or cancelled some of our planned events. It is hoped that we will be able to hold many of these later in the year. I would like to thank all of our families for being so understanding and supportive, especially when we have asked for children to be collected during the school day and when we have asked for children to take a PCR test. Our main aim is to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible and to keep our classes open and our children in school. If your child displays any of the symptoms below they must not attend school and a PCR test is recommended:
Symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
• a new, continuous cough,
• a high temperature,
• a loss of, or change in, sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
Additional symptoms:
• runny nose
• headache
• nausea
• sickness and diarrhoea
• lethargy
• rash on torso
New information has been launched, by the Early Help team, to support families across Worcestershire to find out about the help and support available in the county for children and young people aged 0-18 years old. The information and booklet available aim to help families find the most appropriate support. In addition, they have also developed The Family Hub, which is a website that was developed to give families a range of the different types of Early Help. Early Help means providing advice, help or support where there is a specific need or difficulty within a family. As professionals they work alongside a child, young person and their family/carers to address the challenges they are experiencing, helping them to access the support and make any changes needed. This could be at any point in a child’s life, from birth to 18 years old and on more than one occasion. https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20643/the_family_hub
Little Gems will be running their popular Half Term Holiday Club, this October. Please see further information and a booking form within this newsletter.
Community Litter Pick The next Community Litter Pick will be on Saturday 9th October. Volunteers are needed to help tidy the roadsides and open spaces within our village, it would be great to see some of our families taking part. Meet outside the Village Hall at 10.30am. Wear suitable clothing, litter picking equipment will be provided.
Parents Evening A letter was emailed out yesterday regarding Parents Evening. The booking system will open at 7pm this evening. https://fairfieldfirst.parentseveningsystem.co.uk

We will be marking this important event, with our children, in school, on Friday 22nd October, to celebrate and give thanks for the Harvest that has been produced throughout the year, and for all of the hard work given by the farmers and suppliers. We would like to ask our families to donate towards our traditional Harvest food collection. This collection will then be donated to our friends at Dodford Children's Holiday Farm.
Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm is a not-for-profit registered charity that offers
holidays and short breaks to children who are less fortunate than most, particularly
those living in deprived areas. Some of the children who visit the farm are disabled or
have special educational needs. Most of the children are disadvantaged by their
situation; Families are referred by their social worker, health visitor, GP or community
worker.
Although gifts of fruit and vegetables are always gratefully received I would like to
encourage families to bring long life and tinned produce, as these store well and can
be used over a longer period of time e.g. tins of beans, soup, biscuits and squash.
All donations will be gratefully received and can be left on the tables placed on the
playground on the morning of Friday 22nd October.
Many of you will have now seen the new makings and games on our playground. Many of these were chosen by our children
themselves! We are extremely pleased with the results and we have all really enjoyed using them today. We would like to
say a huge thank you to our PTFA who have made a large contribution towards the payments for these markings – we all
hope that they bring fun, enjoyment and learning opportunities for many years to come.
