ENG2D, Fairbloom The Hunger Games : Write a Letter You will write a letter to President Snow, the dictatorial ruler of the Capitol and all of Panem. In the letter you will need to take a stance on one of the Hunger Games – should they continue (supporter) or should they be eliminated (non-supporter). Your letter should contain textual evidence to convince President Snow of your perspective and back up your own thoughts. You can write the letter from your own point of view or you can adopt a persona of a character in the novel. This letter should be between one to two pages long. You must back up your thoughts, but also input your own opinions and ideas. Make sure to follow the correct format of a formal letter, as you want to be taken seriously by the reader. You need to include your address (you can make one up) on the top right corner, and the address of the person you are writing to on the left just beneath your address. You will create a date and write it on either side of the letter. Different people put the date on different sides of the page. The date should be written properly, not in short form: Wednesday, June 8, 2016. The novel appears to be in the distant future, so think of a date that would pertain to at least 30 years from now. The greeting should say “Dear President Snow” and the letter should end with a phrase like “Yours sincerely”. Feel free to be creative with the ending salutation . Below the ending salutation you will write you signature. The first paragraph should be short and state the purpose of the letter: to make an inquiry, complaint, request, etc. The paragraph or paragraphs in the middle of the letter should contain the relevant information. You do not want to ramble on, so keep the information essential and concreate, and organized in a clear and logical manner to avoid expanding too much. The last paragraph should state what action you expect the recipient to take.

The Hunger Games : Write a Letter You will write a letter to President Snow, the dictatorial ruler of the Capitol and all of Panem.

Feel free to be creative with the ending salutation.
