Send Silence Packing® is an acclaimed exhibit that has traveled the country to end the silence that surrounds mental illness and suicide. The emoonally powerful display includes personal stories from individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide, and is designed to raise awareness about the impact of suicide, connect individuals to mental health resources, and inspire acon for suicide prevenon. Passersby are invited to walk among the Send Silence Packing backpacks to see the photographs and read the stories aached to them. Many of the backpacks were donated by families who lost a student to suicide. Send Silence Packing Students preparing for Graduaon refer to the 3 Steps to Walk flyer to be a part of MJC’s 97th Commencement Ceremony.
