Dr Samuel Goh

Dr Samuel Goh has an MDiv from Singapore Bible College, a ThM from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia, USA) and a PhD from Queen’s University of Belfast (UK). He was in pastoral ministry for ten years before joining the faculty of Singapore Bible College, where he currently teaches Old Testament subjects. Outside SBC, his ministry includes Sunday preaching, seminars and church camps.

EXTRAORDINARY CONGREGATIONAL MEETING (ECM) A) The Elders and Deacons Court of HPC has called for an ECM to be held on 11 November, 6pm, at the 2nd floor Sanctuary. We w ill be presenting the follow ing candidate for election as Deacon into the Elders and Deacons Court, for the term 1 Jan 2019 to 31 Dec 2021, as well as Budget 2019 and the Theme/Broad HPC programme for 2019:

Samantha Quek Jia Yan received Christ at her first youth camp in Hope Presbyterian Church. Baptized in 2008 when she was 18, she experienced the sweetness of God and His word impactfully during her university years. With many precious memories from her time growing up in Powerhouse+, as well as discovering a deep love for God’s word in university, Samantha recognises the formative

importance of teenage years and is passionate to see the youth hunger for God and His glory. She currently serves in the Powerhouse+ Ministry Team and in her own adult cell group.

Samantha is married to Joel Lau and is currently working in an architecture firm, concurrently pursuing her professional practicing certification. B) To establish the ECM Quorum, please inform the church office by email, phone or at the WIC if you/your spouse/ any family member is unable to attend. Your co-operation in this regard is important, much needed and appreciated. C) Members’ rolls are available at the WIC for checking of names and identification numbers.

Pray for Ps Koh Chin Gay and family as they transit into ministry in the family of HPC. Pray that their 4 children will fit well into the Praisehouse and Powerhouse+ ministries.

Pray for the students among us who are sitting for their exams that they will find time to revise, as well as the peace of mind during the exam period.

Praise God for Chelsea's successful lung operation. Pray for protection and a speedy recovery, and that the oncologist will be able to administer the right chemo drug to eradicate the cancer.

Pray for the EDC leadership as they prepare for the ECM, where they w ill share on the direction of the Church for Year 2019.

NEW PASTORAL STAFF We are pleased to welcome Mr Koh Chin Gay as our new Pastoral Staff responsible for the Powerhouse+ and Young Adult ministries. Chin Gay is married to Peng Peng and they are blessed with 4 lovely children. Do pray with them and warmly welcome them into the HPC family.
