Velalar College of Engineering and Technology,

(Autonomous) Thindal, Erode, one of the best-known

Self-financing Co-Educational Institutions, aims to

achieve excellence in Engineering education, with

strong emphasis on the uplift of rural students who have

only limited avenues for higher education. The college

has been established in the year 2001, with all in-built

infrastructural facilities. It offers excellent quality

education in such a manner as to empower the students

for facing any challenging environment after they

graduate from the portals of the college. The institution

has completed 16 years of dedicated and excellent

service in the field of technical education. This

institution offers seven UG and Six PG programs and the

Departments of Management studies, Physics,

Chemistry, EEE and ECE are recognized research centers

of Anna University, Chennai. The college has signed

Memorandum of Understanding with many leading

corporate and multi-national companies to enable the

faculty and students to gain practical knowledge and

exposure to industrial environments.

The department of Management Studies was started in

the year 2005. The department aims in developing

intellectually alert, scientifically progressive, globally

competent and dynamic young Business Administrative

and Management professionals. The Students who come

out are technically competent and ‘employable’ human

resources for Business Industries. There is an increasing

realization among the faculty and the students about the

importance of research for a successful academic career.

The department also focuses on developing business

leaders.

The college is situated at Thindal on the State Highways

(SH-96) about 90 km from Coimbatore and 8 km from

Erode.

The key objective of the FDP is to enable the participants

to enhance their teaching and other skills, make them

aware about modern teaching tools and methodologies,

acquire knowledge about current technological

development in relevant fields, impart professional

practices relevant to technical education, achieve

competitive teaching and learning environment and

channelize development with respect to academic

qualifications and personal matters.

This FDP will help to promote real-time teaching

experiences. The core skills of microteaching such as

presentation and reinforcement skills help the novice

teachers to learn the art of teaching at ease and to the

maximum extent. The impact of this technique has to be

seen widely in various forms of education such as Health

Sciences, Life sciences, Management Sciences,

Engineering Sciences and other areas.

This FDP covers on “Contemporary Issues on Effective

Teaching” faced by faculty in teaching the students of

Management studies. The main focus of the course

includes:

teach the elegant students group in all the areas of

discipline.
