CHRIST (Deemed to be University) CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose

Chavara (1805-1871), a visionary who founded the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI)

congregation in 1831 in South India. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) made a humble beginning on 15 July 1969 as an affiliate college, with the Vision of 'Excellence and Service'.

It became a preferred educational institution in the city of Bangalore within the first

three decades.

From 1 9 9 0 onwards, it reached newer miles ones with introduction of

Postgraduate programmes, innovative and mod e rn curricula, insistence on

academic discipline, and imparting of Holistic Education. It the distinction of

being the first institution in Karnataka to be accredited by National Assessment and

Accreditation Council (NAAC) UGC for quality education 1998. In 2004, UGC conferred

Autonomy on the Institution. In 2005, it became the first College in South India to be

reaccredited with A+ by NAAC. UGC identified it as an Institution with Potential for

Excellence in 2006.

In 2008 Ministry of Human Resource Development of India declared to be University,

in the name and style of Christ University under Section 3 of the UGC 1956. It was

accredited by NAAC with the highest Grade 'A' in 2016. Today, the University 48

undergraduate, 47 postgraduate, 16 MPhil and 17 PhD programmes in humanities, social

sciences, science, commerce, management, engineering, education, law, and to over 21000

students from all over the states of India and about 60 different countries to over 21000

sterling contribution to the cause of Higher education in India.

The Institute of Management is a young institute hosting a vibrant community of teachers and

students. The student community has steadily grown over the years to 1,500 + today. The

Institute of Management offers the two-year, full-time MBA as its flagship programme

with specialisations in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Lean Operations and

systems and Business Analytics. Every student goes through a wide spectrum of experiences

which include the organization structure study, outbound training, book review

competition, summer internships, current affairs & weekly presentations and dissertation.

Around 70 full time and adjunct professors of management from diverse social, cultural,

ABOUT FINSHIKSHA FinShiksha is an IIM C alumnus venture, founded in 2009 with

the idea of simplifying finance. It operates a variety of online &

classroom based trainings for corporates & individuals in the

financial domain.

OVERVIEW Crucial business decisions are made around numbers relating to revenues and expenses of the companies. These numbers indicate

the performance of a company and its future direction. A clear

understanding of these numbers is essential to make right

decisions by managers and executives. Many corporate executives

may not be exposed to the art of interpreting the data provided by accounts and finance functions.

This program has been co-designed by Institute of Management,

Christ University & FinShiksha for mid-level and senior level

managers, keeping in mind the needs that managers have when it

comes to understanding finance and its role in businesses. The program has been carefully crafted to ensure the participant is

able to comprehend the seemingly complex world of finance, and

apply its nuances in their day to day business decisions. Institute

of Management, Christ University, through its finance department

brings years of expertise on the finance domain to this program. FinShiksha, on the other hand, as a corporate partner, brings in the

industry applications of the financial concepts to the program.

OBJECTIVES OF MDP This programme is designed for middle and senior management

executives from functional areas other than finance and accounts.

Participants will be able to acquire basic working knowledge in a

simple manner. This training will benefit them to develop basic financial skills.

Broad content outline

This training programme intends to provide hands on experience

in three areas of accounts and finance: interpreting financial

statements of a company, cost management and corporate finance. Spanning 2 days, through a combination of theory & business

games, the course covers the following topics:

▪ Financial Concepts – Debt, Equity, Costs

▪ Business Game – understand the impact of decisions

on profitability

▪ Decoding and simplifying financial statements.

▪ Understanding cost management

▪ Connecting finance to today’s business environment

Option 2: Pay Online

Please follow the following steps for online payment:

Step 1 : Open the CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

website using the link, https://christuniversity.in and go to the

'Visitors' tab on the website and click 'Online Payment Portal'

Step 2: This opens up the Online Payment Portal. Please read

the payment instructions carefully and click the “Pay Online”

button at the end of the page for payment.

Step 3: You will be taken to the South Indian Bank payment portal. From the Christ payment section, select 'Management

Development Programme (MDP)' from the drop down menu.

Then select the appropriate MDP and proceed for payment by

clicking 'Continue'.

Step 4: After payment is successful, click on 'Get Receipt' to download and save the receipt. The Copy of the receipt

should be produced at the registration desk.
