Charity Leaflet

Using bold text and a rounded/soft font is typographyand effectivecommunication.

Large and different font titles again is typography used to make them stand out and pull apart the text/subjects on each page.

How the charity can help you is titled and displayed in orange, whereas how you can help them it is displayed in blue.

Factual journalism is used here because it is stating where contributions go to and what programs exist and are running which is informing people of the truth

Phone instruction manualUsing a numbered key avoids ambiguity and it makes the instructions very clear and obvious.

Using bold, normal and italic text is typography. This makes the text even easier to understand because the bold is the title/subject of the information, the normal writing is just the general information, and the italic writing hints that this information is not the same for every service provider, the italic makes this information stand out and it acts as a back up of information.

Illustration and diagrams is used here to make the instructions even clearer because it is a diagram of the phone and there are keys for each button explaining what it does.

Effective communications, clear and easy to read - clarity, a basic font that makes it look simple and neat.

Factual journalism article

Typography – colour, font, and sizing of the text on this particular part of text have been considered. This clearly makes this title stand out ad it is a common convention in magazine/newspaper articles.

Sources/referencing, clearly labeled who/where this information came from – directly attributed.

There is an element of evidencing an argument in this article because the fact that they were very bias about not using technology and the way they were implying that they are bad for us and serve us no purpose is ironic to think that this whole article will have been written and edited using a computer and is probably available on a website. They have not added an opposed opinion about the fact that they do have a purpose and they are good for us in some ways and maybe not in others. The fact that it says “When you go out leave your mobile phone at home, don’t use the excuse of what if such and such happes, we survived without them once… really”. They have not considered that actually that is potentially the reason why mobile phones became so popular in the first place. So they needed to show an opposing opinion in order not to be bias.

How to guide Typography is used here with the title’s size boldness and font. The word laundry is in bold and is bigger than the rest of the title, showing that it is the subject of the guide.

Fairly clear text and easy to read, although the text could have been slightly bigger. The text is definitely concise as barely any words are used in most of the steps.

Illustration/diagram of what is being explained for each step.
