Management systems have a positive impact on an organization’s performance and bottom line. When implemented, applied and certified, management systems improve profitability, quality, service, client loyalty, brand reputation and much more. Certified management systems help to ensure sustained business performance through inevitable company changes from consolidation or reorganization to mergers and acquisitions. The scope of ISO 41000 describes that the FM management system standard is applicable to all types and sizes of organizations that wish to: seek certification of its FM organization by an accredited third party certification body, or make a self-determination and self-declaration of conformity. ISO 41000 is the first international standard focused for FM, and also supports voluntary certification. When an organization’s business plan justifies certification of conformity to ISO 41000, any organization will be able to demonstrate successful alignment and certification to this voluntary preparedness standard. The scope of ISO 41000 for FM is applicable to organizations of all types and sizes that wish to design, maintain and improve an FM MSS that appropriate to its needs, ensuring conformity with a stated FM policy, and that meets its interested parties’ requirements. The scope also recognizes that organizations also wish to: (1) Demonstrate conformity to others. (2) By seeking certification of its FMS by an accredited third party certification body, or (3) making a self-declaration of conformity to ISO 41000.
