First, for those who have asked, I’m not a player on a team. I just show up and observe. Zero chance you would guess who I am. It is a fun league to watch though.

Next, what a year it has been. My thoughts and prayers go out to any and all. 2020 has affected us all in some sort of way. Keep moving forward, we will get past this.

Thoughts on this season going into the fall playoffs… (In no particular order)

Who is Swift?? I thought they folded. Was Julian the QB when Swift had a team before? Why did so many players leave all of their teams to go play for them? The reason I ask these questions is, I watched a couple of their games. They’re good. Upper division good. If they make to the upper division, I will be curious to see how they do. There’s a team from Colorado Springs that can play as well. They have some guy named Russell that has real talent, I was impressed. The Chiefs have players, at all positions, just don’t know if they have that “it” factor. Mondo can throw the ball. The Wise kid looks like he played somewhere. This team could win the Comp title. I thought Lightning would make some noise this season, they didn’t. Kryptonite has some young kid I had never seen playing QB. Empire is new, saw one game, not bad. Mustangs are in the league every season. One day they have to get better right? I mean, it’s simple odds, I don’t know. Kombat and Do Not Disturb. 2 teams that ran into what most new teams run into… seeing that this league, even the B league, is the best competition in the state. It’s not rec ball.

Even though I said no particular order, I did go with the lower division first. So, I guess it’s on to the Upper. What the hell happened to the Bro’s????? I tried to stand next to anyone who would say something, but I got nothing. When did Donnie get hurt? Why did half the team go to Swift? I could ask more, but I guess it doesn’t do much good. Didn’t they win it all a couple years ago? Ok, I’ll stop. Tough season, I hope they bounce back in the Comp division next year.

FOE isn’t a Pro division team, but they do have talent though, just not enough to be in the Pro. I don’t watch Mille High Built enough, but it seems like they have one team that shows up one week that’s actually pretty good, but then the next week the same team name shows up with a bunch of different players and gets smoked. They are in the playoffs though, so there’s that. Menace is kind of a Jekyll and Hyde team, aren’t they? One week, they look like they can beat any team, the next week they look like they can’t beat anyone. The Malcolm kid is good, where did he come from? Dajuanjoined that team, how did that happen? Where was Donovan this season? I should ask these questions before writing these huh? The Rockers, their QB, how old is he? I ask that cause here’s what I’ve gathered. Everyone on the planet has played with him at one point or another, at least that’s how it seems. He also runs the exact same plays every game, every year, yet still wins. It’s interesting. I watched the opening game of the season for CTS. The QB, Duece (Original way to spell it), played awful. Well, by the end of the season, he was playing like the best player in the league. I’m very interested to see CTS this weekend. They have a lot of trophies, no clue how many, but I know they have a lot. The Bulls quietly just get better don’t they? David Knighton is a good quarterback. If there is such thing as a #2 seed that nobody is talking about, this is that team. I end with the Huskers, the number one seed and defending champs. Artie has a cannon, Antoine can do the move where his knees almost touch the ground, but don’t. Good DB’s, strong pass rush. I see why they’re the defending champs. With that, they’re really cocky. I wonder what other teams think about that. Maybe I’ll ask that one of these days along with my many other questions.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, we gear up for what will be an exciting playoff. Going into week 7 we knew what teams would be playing in the playoffs, we just didn't know wh0 would be seeded 3 through 6. There was also the little matter of figuring out just who would pull ahead in the PF3 awards. With it being only 18 degrees, slightly breezy and snowing, only a few teams elected to play on Sunday. The Pro division only had two games go, only one having playoff implications. In the Comp division there was still one spot left to be decided for the playoffs along with finalizing the seeding. All Comp teams said they wanted to play when asked earlier in the week. All but one team showed up.

The Pro Playoffs have the Huskers and Bulls at the #1 and #2 seeds. Both teams will receive a bye in the first round. The Huskers will end up facing the lowest remaining seed to come out of the first round, while the Bulls will get the higher seeded team. CTS earned the #3 seed and will face off against #6 seeded Mile High Built. Rounding out the first round will be the #4 seeded Rockers going against the #5 seeded Menace. In the Comp playoffs, Swift and VIP earned the #1 and #2 seeds that come with a bye in the first round. Earning the #3 seed is the Chiefs who will go against the #6 seed Disciples. With the tie breaker, Kryptonite earned the #4 seed and will face off against the #5 seeded Empire.

In the first game of the Pro Playoffs #3 seed CTS will go up against #6 seed Mile High Built. These two teams were supposed to play each other in the final week of the regular season but due to the snow (and no playoff implications) they didn’t play the game. So this will be the first time these teams face each other this season. The last time these two teams meet up was in the summer league when CTS prevailed with a 19 to 6 win. Both teams have very stout defenses with plenty of playmakers. Leading the pass rush for Mile High Built are Broderick Sargent and Conor Sparacio while CTS will have Mike Timm and Cameron Bobb leading their pass rush. CTS has the athletes to match up extremely well with Mile High Built's spread offense, which will put a ton of pressure on the Mile High Built defense to match stop for stop. The question will be does Mile High Built have an answer for Duece Richardson. For me the key to this game will come at the line. If CTS can buy time for Duece to dissect the defense, then this could be a runaway. Mile High Built will need to dig deep for any tricks to get the treats as there aren't many CTS hasn't seen. Pound for pound CTS has the edge so MHB will need to capitalize off any errors CTS makes.

This will be Round two for Rockers vs Menace. The Rockers edged out a 22 to 18 win in week 6's round one. These two teams are somewhat similar in offensive schemes. Both have pocket QBs that rely on their playmakers to be just that. Jesse Eaton and Pat Yanda both have incredible trust that their o-line will give them the time needed to make the right reads and fire the ball to the right spot. What's crazy is both teams had a rocky start at the center position but as the season has worn on it appears both teams have corrected that issue. The display of timing routes will be something to see. So obviously it will be key for both teams to interrupt that timing by keeping the opposing QB guessing. This game will showcase two of the (technically) seven award winners. Menace's DaJuan Thomas who ended up tied for the Titan award with 12 sacks and Rockers Ricky Peterson who earned the Ironman award for defensive player of the year. Good luck trying to guess how this game will end up. Both teams have the potential to keep each other at bay and both have the capability of putting up big scores. It all comes down to the brain games of these two quarterbacks.

The Huskers earned themselves a bye after going 7 and 0 in the regular season. That record is no surprise when you look at the numbers. The Huskers forced 224 points which is 1st in the league. They only allowed 57 points which is also the best in the league. Artie Barcelo earned himself a seventh Atlas award for PF3's top QB. Of course, it’s only fitting his top target Antoine Kelly earned his sixth Primetime Award for PF3's top offensive player. On defense the Huskers are just as loaded with talent or "dogs" as Mario Lopez likes to put it. Lopez was in the running for the sack lead but fell one sack shy. Rio's eleven sacks are just what we could keep track of, if we could count pressures his numbers would look even more impressive. The Huskers defense gets the job done in all aspects and you'd be hard pressed to find a weak point in the unit. They are definitely the favorites to win it all with how they have played this season.

The Bulls were able to lock in the #2 seed in week 6. They would finish off with a record of 6 and 1 with their only loss at the hands of the Huskers. This team has been able to keep getting better every single season. It's truly been the subtle moves that have paid dividends, like moving Mike Uribe to d-line. Uribe is one of those special players that can play almost any position and produce. Uribe was able to tie for the sack lead which gives him a Titan award to pair with his Ironman award. This Bulls defense has played absolutely outstanding and put to rest the lack of pass rush questions. They lead the league with 22 sacks on the season. On offense they've added another bigtime weapon in former CSU running back Marvin Kinsey. He ended up leading the team in receptions with 25 and yards with 391 to go along with his 5 touchdowns. It's easy to see the Bulls going up against the Huskers in the championship but they'll have to win their semi-finals game first.

The first round of the Comp playoffs will see two rematches from earlier in the season. The Chiefs will go up against the Disciples for the second time and look for the same success as the first time around. The Disciples will give it everything they have and in the end that could be what moves them on to the next round. The Chiefs are coming off a tough one-point loss to VIP. If there are any lingering effects from that loss, the Chiefs could be in trouble. The Chiefs will field some incredible talent at WR which could be the biggest mismatch for the Disciples. The Chiefs are the better team on paper so we should see them with a chance for redemption in the semifinals.

The second play in game is between Kryptonite and Empire. Their earlier match up was a defensive battle with the game ending at 8 to 6 in week 2. Since then both team’s offenses have found their rhythm, I don't believe this will be as much of a defensive game, but I also don't see these two teams making it a 32 to 38 game. Look for a 24 to 12 or 18 to 6 type of game. These two teams are similar with some big-time playmakers but with QBs who are dual threat. On paper they are so similar it’s hard for me to really give a favorite.

Awaiting the winners of the first two games will be Swift, the #1 seed and VIP, the #2 seed. Swift is filled with players who not only played in the Pro league but have had success. The teams that went up against Swift got a little taste what it's like to play in the Pro division. Swift is the odds-on favorite to not only make the championship game but to win the Comp division. VIP is just as filled with Pro league talent as Swift. VIP got tired of walking through the Springs leagues, so they made the trip up north in hopes of finding more competition. I believe they found it even in the Comp division. They had a come from behind victory last week against the Chiefs. VIP is highly likely to meet Swift in the championship game but another match-up against the Chiefs may end in a different result.

Regardless of which teams end up winning against whatever teams, these playoffs are looking to be very exciting. The weather forecast says it will be a nice fall day with no snow. That will be a welcome sight as it will allow teams to play to their full potential.

For the 2nd consecutive season, Artie Barcelo has earned the Most Valuable Player

award. “The player who contributes the most to his/her team’s success.” He has

been described as a pure force of will. That is pretty accurate. Artie led the

Huskers to a 7-0 regular season record. He also marched his way to consecutive

Atlas Awards as well given to the league’s best statistical QB. Artie continues to set

the standard for all QB’s in this league, in this state, and maybe even the entire

nation if you ask some. A player that even some would say is still improving as a

quarterback, there truly is only one “Ghost”. Congratulations to Artie for this honor.

This is the inaugural season of the Goliath Award for the best Offensive lineman

in the PF3 Pro Division. It is only fitting that the first time this is given, it goes to

Mason Barrett or the Bulls. He is the epitome of what you look for in a blocking

big guy. The footwork… his first two steps in a pass set are the exact same (which

they should be), followed up by one of the best two-handed punches in the

league. Consistency is the one of the main key’s to be a good offensive lineman

and game in and game out, he plays at a high level. All of these are all reasons

why Mason has been voted an All-Pro by his peers every single season the that

award’s inception. Congratulations Mason, well deserved sir.

For the 7th, yes, 7th time, Artie Barcelo has won the Atlas Award given

to the league’s top statistical quarterback. Throwing for 1572 yards

and 25 touchdowns, not to mention rushing for 565 yards and 4

touchdowns, Artie showed that he is still the top QB in one of the nation’s

top leagues. A player that truly plays with zero fear and the heart of a

champion, Artie will look to lead the Huskers to another Pro Division title.

We have a familiar face gracing the Primetime Player Award in Antoine

Kelly. Actually, Kelly is so familiar with this award, it may need to be

renamed at this point to the Antoine Kelly Primetime Player Award. He’s

won this award 6 times, four more than the next guy with only one guy

winning it more than once. That speaks to this man’s dominance as an

offensive player. With 29 receptions, 465 yards and 10 TD’s, his knack

for getting in to the endzone is truly the reason he continues to win the

award. Congratulations on the award Antoine, it’s truly deserved.

Ricky Peterson is your Ironman Award winner for the fall 2020 PF3 Season. There

were multiple people in the running for this award going into the last week and

Ricky came up clutch with 2 INT’s in the final game to put over the top. He led the

league with 27 flag pulls and 5 INT’s, 3 passes defensed and 1 defensive score

of and interception. His nose for the football has to come from playing on both

sides of the ball at a high level. Ricky will look to keep his stellar play going in

the fall season playoffs this weekend with the Rockers looking to add the elusive

This season we had a 3-way tie for the Titan Award. Offense’s beware as Dajuan Thomas, Mike

Timm and Mike Uribe all finished the season with 12 sacks and likely all would have had more

had it not been for a blizzard on the last week of the season. These guys have all challenged

for this award in the past and are known game wreckers. Their talent is hard to game plan for

and offenses need to just try to slow them down. Each one of these guys win their matchups in

different ways but are equally effective. Congratulations to this trio of monster pass rushers.

Good luck in the playoffs this weekend, we all know where you’ll be on the field.

The teams made the decision together not to play this game because of the winter storm and a

lack of playoff implications. They will match up in the opening round of the playoffs.

The Bro’s reluctantly forfeited the game early in the week due to too many injuries and not

enough healthy bodies to have a competitive team. Menace have the 5 seed.

A thank you to FOE for playing with pride and thank you to the Bulls for making the drive from

up north. Mike Uribe was able to join Mike Timm and DaJuan Thomas for the sack title with 12.

The Bulls will take the #2 seed.

Just like the game before, both teams chose to play even though it changed nothing in the

playoff seedings. Artie Barcelo locked down the Atlas Award and Antoine Kelly locked down the

Primetime award. With 2 INT’s, Ricky Peterson locked down the Ironman award.

With the playoffs on the line, Empire was more prepared for the conditions than the Mustangs.

With the win and point differential, Empire locked down the #5 seed.

The first game of the day on the turf at Rangeview; most, if not all of Team Swift showed up to

play some football. On this day, they were better. With the win, Swift locked up the #1 seed

going into playoff Sunday and Because of point differential, The Disciples dropped to the 6th

seed.

After confirming more than once that DND would show up to play, not one person showed up.

Kryptonite, who had a few guys drive over 40 minutes to get to the game, appreciated the

“integrity” DND showed on this cold Sunday. Attention DND, next time just say you won’t be

there. Sincerely, all other teams that show up to play, even if there was nothing play for. With

the win and the point differential, Kryptonite locked down the 4 seed.

On the other side comes a game like this. Touchdown after touchdown, back and forth. 2 teams

that did not have a playoff seed to play for, play the most exciting game of the day. Thank you

to both teams for coming out playing some fun football.

The final game of the day at Rangeview with the most on the line. The winner getting the #2

seed in the playoffs, the loser gets the 3 seed and doesn’t get the 1st round bye. The conditions

were the worst at this point, but the game was still exciting. A back and forth game saw the

Chiefs score a TD to break a 14-14 tie with less than 2 minutes to go. A masterful drive in what

was basically blizzard conditions by Juan Gallegos led to a tying TD. A beautiful pass on the

conversion gave VIP a one-point lead leaving the Chiefs not enough time to come back.

REMINDER: It is on the team captains to make sure their players know the rules and follow them. There is absolutely NO FIGHTING. Doing so will result in HEAVY fines and

suspensions. The rules are there for a reason. If fights happen then we may lose the rights to play on the amazing fields, we have. Also, after each game the sidelines will be checked to

make sure the trash has been cleaned up. Fines will be implemented to teams that leave their sidelines trashed. So please clean up after yourselves and your fans. Let's have good

sportsmanship and have a great season.
