• directed towards sources of strong light (sun) with open diaphragm (switched on or off) • installed, serviced, configured or repaired by unauthorized and untrained persons The casing warms during operation. Always care for proper installation of zoom lenses or dust protection covers to avoid intrusion of dust that may appear in the image zone.

Mounting sequence for rotation of sensor unit pic. 1: The position of the sensor unit in the camera housing can be rotated by 2 x 90° allowing reproduction of normal and 180° turned images.
Attention: First remove all external connectors!
• loosen all screws and insulation rings 4 x (1a/1b) (SW2).
• remove ring nut (3 ).
• unplug 14 pin female multiplug connector from ribbon cable (4).
• rotate sensor holder (5) in the clockwise direction by 90° or 180°.
• plug 14 pin female multiplug connector to strip (orientation lug on top!).
• apply ring nut (3).
• replace 4 screws with insulation rings (1a/1b) and screw tight (SW2).
• Attention These screws fix the base plate of the lens tube at the same time in the case of WP version. Avoid slipping of gasket between base plate and camera housing!
• Prevent sensor surface from dirt and damage!

Connection and installation The I-type connects via 15 pin D-SUB connector (2) plus BNC coaxial video connection (3) for all camera features, zoom lens diaphragm control with 4-pin terminal (4).
The WP-type 12 pin female multipoint connector is used for wiring of electrically controlled zoom lenses.
Connection plug arrangement see page 16.
The WP concept components:
FAC 858/FA857 I/WP/IR_S/HS 7
The scope of delivery includes the basic WP camera (1), the tube with mutable length (2) and a sun cover (3).
Connection housing AGW838 (with or without power supply AGN838) and zoom lens are not part of the delivery.
To fix the preassembled tube 4 screws (5) are fixed at the camera housing (SW3). The 3 pin connector connects to the glass heater.
Attention Care for proper positioning of the gasket (7) during tube installation. It may not be squashed in or otherwise damaged.
Sun cover installation at the ribs (14) on both sides of the camera housing requires smooth uncompressing of the inside (13). If the WP-camera is installed in a position realizing angles >30° to the top the sun cover must be fixed by suitable means.
Putting the camera on a connection box uses bottom side fixing points (9), (10).
Attention The gasket (15) between connection box and camera is part of the connection box. It may not be displaced or damaged (squeezed).
Fixing points at the connection box are two ¼“ threads (11), (12) in a distance of 55mm for installation on a panning head, tripod or other fixing means.

Installation of WP tube
The tube length is mutable for use of different lenses. The standard equipment includes 4 extension rings for use of lenses with a maximum length of 74mm and a maximum diameter of 60mm. The “tube extension” accessory kit contains 3 more rings for lenses with a total length of 111mm.
Note: The tube parts are equipped with gaskets (1a), (3a), (5a) and may not be damaged or soiled.
Mounting sequence: Provide tube head with integrated heating and soldered contacts (1), (2), (9).
Attach first ring (3) according to drawing, take care of inside rib pairs (10).
Use M3 screws (4) for fixing ring at head (SW 2,5).
The following rings, if necessary, are screwed the same ways. Take care to install rings 1 & 3 (3) and 2 & 4 (5) in the proper position. Correct positions are achieved with 60° turns. At the last ring before fixing of the tube flange one rib (3b or 5b) must be at the bottom position for connector fixing.
Attach tube flange according to drawing.
Connector fixing is supported by the ribs (5b, 3b, sometimes also 3c) and held down by the flange contour. Screw flange with 3 screws M3, positions according to the number of used rings. In case of 0, 2 or 4 rings use (b1), (b2) and (b3) in case of 1,3 or 5 rings use (a1), (a2) und (a3).
The right picture shows full assembly of the tube with two rings.

Lens connector The 4 pin lens connector of all indoor types is located at the camera backside.
If WP-type requires diaphragm control only use 4 pin lens socket (8), connectors are often factory-fitted on the lens cables. Open 8 wires remain unused and can be cut off if necessary (9).

For vario lenses press enclosed 12-pin connector to ribbon cable and cut off 4 pin lens socket. Install enclosed plug at the lens cable.
The plug consists of two 6-pin pin jacks (2) and (3), 12 crimp contacts and one socket (1). Both pin jacks are plugged to the 12 pin socket with orientation lugs facing outside. The crimp contacts are attached to the lens wires using suitable tools and locked into place in the cavities of the pin jacks as described in the a.m. table with position of pin 1 to be seen from the drawing.
Back focus adjustment This camera generation allows remote controlled back focus adjustment, e.g.
via RS 485 interface with BMK 802 or PGEWin
via enclosed activation magnet pic. 3 (1) at the camera
For camera operation the activation magnet must be positioned directly at one of both lateral check marks at the housing pic. 3 within 5 minutes after switching as 5 minutes after last activation of any button all contacts are locked. This operation method can also be locked according to preset configuration. For proper adjustment diaphragm must be fully opened.

IR cameras
IR-Cameras are equipped with advanced ½“ image sensors for small distances. The diagram shows spectral sensitivity compared with standard cameras. Lenses with stronger virtual diaphragm (spot filter) allow sufficient light damping even when used during full daylight. This spot filter
also works in the infrared area.
Attention! Artificial light (halogen lamps) deteriorates colour fidelity. The high modulation in the IR range may cause signal contraction (colour loss) in the IR range.
Operation with IR lighting requires switching from colour to monochrome operation via RS 485 or control input. It is recommended to choose another operator memory that may also include other modified parameters, e.g. other SCS/AGC windows or other features.
Lenses behave differently with infrared and visible light due to the transmission range allowing uniform focus over the entire spectral range in the case of IR-corrected lenses.
Both back focus settings of uncorrected lenses must be stored at position 1 and 2, automatic back focus must be switched on and both positions must be stored in the operator memory module.
If switching of operator memory is not possible, snap diaphragm lenses should not be used in IR cameras.
Diaphragm adjustment The camera must be configured and adjusted to the relative diaphragm. The configuration software PGE 858 provides necessary tools with suitable instructions (help menu).
Alignment instructions:
diaphragm types actuator default
manual lens adjustment ring sufficient even brightness
VSS automatic
snap automatic alignment test pattern in the monitor until the camera switches

14 FAC 858/FA857 I/WP/IR-S/HS
FAC 858/FA857 I/WP-S/HS The S/HS camera has the following functions in addition to the general functions of the standard camera:
Ticker • Ticker can be switched on/off.
• Ticker position adjustable.
• Simple positioning of the ticker through 3 preset positions: Bottom left, right and center.
The parameters listed above can be stored in the camera as part of the user settings (they are not reset by "factory settings"!).
Live image check a) Live image check can be switched on/off.
b) White lines level 100%.
c) Invisible insertion in 3 lines from line 24 (1st half image) and from line 336 (2nd half image),
Attention: This setting is detected in the monitor; the monitor can switch to "dark" if changes are made!
Restrictions in standard functions a) Backlight menu/backlight option cannot be accessed when live image check active.
b) In the case of "-S/HS" cameras the image memory is blocked, i.e. storage and display of memory images (single images, sequential recording etc.) is not possible.
c) The designations of the cameras are FAC 858 I-S/HS or FAC 858 WP-S/HS with their own identification plate, own item number and own version number.
d) No script insert possible (user text, date &. time, status pages and operating menu) for HS types!
PGEWin-HS Operation and configuration of the function ticker and live image check is only possible in the PGEWin-HS.
