The surroundings of Naples
Sorrento and Amalfi coastsThe Amalfi Coast
offers places of rare and spectacular
beauty with small nice beaches and white little houses
full of flowers along the narrow,
winding roadway high above the sea.
Cave of Esmerald
Amalfi’s coast is studded with more than a dozen caves , most accessible and spectacular . The most famous in the
world is “The Cave Of Esmerald” . Rays of lights, that brake into the clear water, make their colour to be seen
like greenish
Pompei
A magnificent Roman city that was ruined in the year 79 B.C. , when Vesuvius erupted. Within two days the city was
covered with ash in the height of 6-7 meters and it’s everyday live was preserved under the layers .
PompeiThe walking among streets, temples, remnants of palaces, market squares, fountains is exciting also to those who do not love archaeology
The Islands in the Bay of Naples Ischia, Capri, Procida and Vivara: these are the main islands in the bay of Naples. To the north of the gulf are situated Ischia, Procida and Vivara, looking toward the “Flegrea” coast, while in the south, opposite to the Sorrento peninsula, lays Capri.
Ischia Ischia is the
largest one and it is called “the green island” because it is
totally covered by trees, gardens
and flowers, for its volcanic
thermal spas as well as for its
beaches.
Ischia Two of the most famous beaches are: Sant’Anna cliffs, just in front of the
Aragonese castel, standing on a small island and reachable by crossing a stone bridge
and Sant’Angelo, an old fishing village and actually a peaceful oasis, full of trees and plants
surrounded by a marvellous panorama with coloured houses and blue and clear sea.
Capri is an enchanting heaven in the Bay of Naples.
The “Faraglioni Rocks”, which are the symbol of the island
the main square “Umberto”, attended by lot of famous personalities
the “Gardens of Augustus” with their colourful flowers and nice sea-view
Capri
the “Blue Grotto”, famous all over the world, make this island unique.
Capri
ProcidaThe charming
island of Procida lies like an
undiscovered garden next to Ischia and Capri
with its flourishing
gardens and fragrant lemon
and orange groves.
Procida is the smallest and oldest island in the Bay of Naples and, like Ischia, is a volcanic island.
