Introduction

There is a knock at your door. You open the door and see a little girl sobbing.

She says “ detective please help me. I cannot find my dog anywhere. Could you please help me find him.”

She gives you a folder with clues of where the dog is. She mentions she found the folder in the dog’s doghouse.

Task

Your goal is to find the missing dog. For every clue, draw the coordinate

plane and shade or plot a point where you think the dog might be.

Remember to label the x-axis and the y-axis.

Also, label the four quadrants.

After you analyze the clues and find the position of the missing dog, you will draw the coordinate system and label where the missing dog is located.

On a separate piece of paper, write what you have learned. Minimum of one paragraph. Write another paragraph explaining how the coordinate system is used in real life.

Clues • The dog found a piece of meat at (3,5).• Then the dog fell asleep. (3,5) reflected on
