    Testing

    Switchboarddielectric test

This test can be performed in a singleoperation. All circuit-breakers must be plugged-in andclosed, with the cubicle doors open.Furthermore, one of the outgoing cubiclesmust have its MV cable compartment openfor the connection of the test cable.

This preparation requires the manualdisabling of interlocking to plug in the circuit-breakers, with the door open.

The sequence below must absolutely befollowed.

Position the circuit-breaker in drawn-outposition, with the door open.Lift and lock the door locking rod by means ofa 55 mm high U-shaped wedge.Plug in the circuit-breaker.Remove the wedge.

Indicator A indicates the status of the circuit-breaker (O or I).

The manual closing of the circuit-breaker bypressing button " I" is then possible by meansof its operating mechanism.

    Testing the currenttransformers

Injection at primariesAn injection at the current transformerprimaries is possible by access to the fixedplug-in blocks located in the circuit-breakercompartment.

Injection at secondariesThe tests and settings will be preferablyperformed by injection at secondaries, usingthe test and injection boxes provided in the

    LV compartment.

Changing the winding ratios at thesecondary.Any change in the winding ratio is performedby access to a specific terminal board insidethe low voltage compartment (see LVdeveloped diagrams). This operation is performed with thetransformer primary de-energized andearthed by closing of the earthing isolator.

Note: to perform this operation, refer to thevarious relevant chapters in this document.

1 : Extract the removable part.2 : Close the earthing isolator.3 : Padlock the opening of the bottom flapproviding access to the fixed blocks on thebusbar side.4 : Access the fixed blocks on the

current transformer side throughthe top flap aperture.

5 : Fit the injection devicebetween the fixed block (primary terminal

P1) and the cubicle earth bar which isaccessible in the circuit-breaker

compartment.Terminal P2 of the transformer is

connectedto the cubicle earth bars by means of theearthing isolator in closed

position.Caution: the connection accessory must notdamage the fixed block coating.

After testing1 : Remove the injection device.2 : Close the top flap.3 : Remove the padlock locking

the opening of the bottom flap.4 : Open the earthing isolator.5 : Insert the removable part.

    Testing

Busbar earthing truck The earthing of the busbars of Fluair 400switchboards in version 2000 is provided bymeans of a circuit-breaker type truckpositioned in one of the outgoing cubiclesafter draw-out.

All circuit-breakers in the switchboard can beextracted if necessary.

Busbar earthing truck F400 complies with therequirements of CEI129.

    Polarization of MALT trucks

The purpose of this optional device is toimpose the draw-out of all circuit-breakers ina set of cubicles and of the coupling beforeplugging in a busbar earthing truck

    Technical features

    Rated voltage = 36kV

    Ith = i.e. 25kA - 3s

    i.e. 31.5kA - 3s

    "Power on" device: no

The MALT trucks are planned to be insertedin one of the switchboard cubicles 1250A forthe main earthing of the busbars.

A double lock can be provided with separateoperating mechanisms releasing cams thatabut the polarization block located on thecubicle floor.

Each double lock is then allocated to one ofthe sets of cubicles (L-H or R-H) by meansof a central key box.

    29/4007897171EN - REV.C0 - 27Schneider Electric

    Testing

    Recommendations for operating MALTtrucks

The plug-in of a MALT truck is performed bymeans of the propulsion mechanism used forcircuit-breakers (crank).

The closing-opening operations of the maincontacts are performed manually by theoperator, with the cubicle MV door open.

The MALT truck is used in the followingconditions:

    - possibility of plugging in the MALT truck withthe cubicle MV door open or closed

    - the MALT truck only operates the bottom flapof the plug-in bells

    - the truck operates the plug-in/draw-out

contacts of the cubicle- the positioning of closing springs isperformed manually by means of the lever

    - opening-closing operations are controlled bymeans of the buttons located on the frontpanel of the truck

    - the " O-C " buttons are padlockableseparately

    - the truck can be inserted with the earthingisolator (SMALT) closed or open

    - the SMALT remains operable with the MALTtruck plugged-in

    - the MALT truck is equipped with a separationprohibiting access to energized parts whenthe truck is plugged-in

Once plugged in, the MALT truck isconsidered as potentially closed.

As a result, it does not have the followingauxiliaries:

    - auxiliary contacts indicating the status of theMean Voltage main contacts- electric control systems to ensure the remoteopening-closing controls

    - low voltage cord connecting the MALT truckto the cubicle LV compartment.

    The " O - C " position mechanical indicator ofHV contacts is:

    - black for OPEN

    - white for CLOSED

    Maintenance Instructions

Ordering partsWhen preparing the order, refer to this manual suppliedwith the system to define the equipmentdesired very precisely.

To order any equipment, you must indicate:b type of cubicleb manufacturing number (engraved on the

identification plate located on the left-handpanel of the circuit-breaker compartment).

If possible, attach a diagram of this manual onwhich the part is conspicuous.

PreventivemaintenanceBefore performing any task, make sure ofthe strict compliance with operating andsafety instructions.

Our equipment is designed to guaranteeoptimum operation provided that themaintenance instructions described in thismanual are strictly adhered to.

Start each maintenance task with thethorough cleaning of the cubicle.

The use of pressurized solvent projectionas a cleaning process is prohibited.

The main risks related to this process are asfollows:b De-lubrication of sliding rails and joints (life

    lubricated)

b Corrosion of unprotected partsb Damage and deformation due to high

pressureb Overheating due to solvent on contact

    areas.b Elimination of special protections.

Schneider Electric cannot guarantee thedurability and reliability of the equipmentsubjected to this type of cleaning processeven if followed with lubrication.

    Maintenance points
