DUTY
All product imported into Canada is required to comply with Canada Border Services Agency requirements for importation and customs clearance.
Products which qualify for preferential tariff treatment under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) will require the completion of NAFTA certificates of origin. If the supplier prepares blanket NAFTA certificates, the certificates must be forwarded to Tepperman’s Director of Marketing Operations. NAFTA certificates which cover a single importation must be included with the paperwork provided to Tepperman’s customs broker.

To avoid delays, please pre-book all containers for sailing one week in advance of purchase order ready date with C.H. Robinson International Inc..
In order for all documents to reach Canada customs on time, required documents should be sent on the same day as sailing. If any of the required documents are missing Canada Customs will pull the container in for customs & security inspection, with cost running in the hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars. Cost due to incomplete information submission for Canada Customs will be communicated back to shipper.

PARTS PROCEDURE
In the event of damages or defective merchandise, parts requests will be processed through a Tepperman’s Customer Service Representative.
The manufacturer shall be responsible for the freight, duties and brokerage of parts ordered due to warrantable failure unless shipped via container.
North American Manufacturers
1. Tepperman’s requests replacement parts ship within 10 business days from date of order with the exception of cut and sew parts, which we request shipment within 15 business days from date of order.
Container Direct Manufacturers
1. Tepperman’s requests replacement parts stocked in North America ship within 10 business days from date of order. Please supply an itemize list, merchandise specific of available warrantable parts in APPENDIX D and return to Director of Customer Care, Robert Landgraff (e-mail: [email protected] ).
2. Tepperman’s requests a service start-up kit of replacement parts that are only available from overseas to ensure timely repair of defective merchandise due to warrantable failure. Please supply an itemize list, merchandise specific of available warrantable parts in APPENDIX D and return to the Director of Customer Care, Robert Landgraff (e-mail: [email protected] ).
Tepperman’s will submit a parts order based on information provided for the service start-up kit.

CHARGEBACK PROCEDURE
Manufacturers are supplied the following information through the claims process for merchandise that falls under warrantable failure:
1. Date
2. Model number
3. Product description
4. Delivery date to customer (if applicable)
5. Customer report date (if applicable)
6. Customers sales order number (if applicable)
7. Warrantable damage or defective description
8. Detailed description of repair
9. Credit amount for labor costs to repair or markdown allowance
10. Photo documentation of damage(s)
ONTARIO LAW LABEL REQUIREMENTS
Ontario - Upholstered and Stuffed Articles Act
Currently, Ontario is one of three provinces in Canada to have legislation governing the labeling of upholstered and stuffed articles. (The other two provinces are Manitoba and Québec.) The Ontario Act broadly defines “upholstered and stuffed articles” to mean “an article any part of which contains stuffing”, and requires that such articles be labeled as prescribed by the Regulations immediately after their manufacture, with the labels applied so that they are easily visible. The sale of such articles without the required labels is prohibited.

PRESCRIBED LABEL FORMAT
Note:
· Minimum size does not include sewing edges or contents to be declared.
· Labels must be non-paper, made of a white durable fabric or synthetic material such as tyvek, mylar, linen or a material equivalent in strength to those materials, and detail to be in black only.
· Labels must be securely affixed in a conspicuous area of the article.
· The Upholstered and stuffed Articles Program of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority offers an optional Label Approval Service, which assists our customers in reducing non-compliance issues from occurring at the retail level.
