Golden Gate Bridge, USAWhen it was built in 1937, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco was the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world. The name “golden gate” comes from the stretch of water it sits across.

Flag symbolsNational flags often have symbols or shapes on them,
including stars, moons, and mythical beasts such as
dragons. These pictures are special to their countries
in some way. Find the missing symbols for these flags.

KenyaThis flag has two spears behind a traditional shield used by the Maasai people on it. It shows how important traditional Kenyan tribes are.
CanadaThe maple leaf is Canada’s national symbol. About 80 percent of the world’s maple syrup comes from Canadian maple trees.
PakistanThe white of the crescent moon means peace, and the star represents light. The green backdrop is the color of Islam, the national religion.
Red is the most popular flag color, appearing on three-quarters of
national flags.

Sri LankaThis flag’s golden lion means bravery and strength, while the traditional Kastane sword means authority.
BhutanThis country is called the “Land of the Dragon,” which is why Druk, the mythical Bhutanese thunder dragon, is in the middle of the flag.
UruguayThe sun comes from the flag of Argentina, a country linked to Uruguay. Each stripe stands for a Uruguayan province (area).
CroatiaThe design in the middle of this flag has five tiny shields along the top. These stand for the five areas of Croatia. The three striped colors mean courage (red), peace (white), and truth (blue).
PalauThe flag for this chain of islands features a yellow full moon. A full moon is a special time of harvest and celebration in these islands.
