F is fora yellow flower.

L is fora ladybug. In Alaska

they found a mystery bug.

O IS FOR

an Oak tree, in Florida AND Alaska.

R is forsmall rocks. They were grey and

black.

I is foran eight-legged insect. Our

spider was yellow and black. In Alaska they found a spider.

D is fordirt. Ours was sandy.

Theirs was brown.

A IS FORan ant.

HOW IS OUR ENVIRONMENT SIMILAR AND DIFFERENT TO

OTHER ENVIRONMENTS?

SIMILAR•Other places have beaches, just like us.•There are similar animals: electric eels, rays, sharks, dolphins, spiders, ants, bears, and turtles.•We all have buildings in our environments.•We have flowers and so do many other places.•We have pine trees and other kinds of trees, just like other places in the world. •We almost all have grass.

DIFFERENT

•Here it is very hot most of the year. Because of this we wear different kinds of clothes.•We have different weather. We have never had snow.•We have different kinds of trees: pine trees, orange trees, and palm trees.•The oil spill was off our coast and affected our environment.•The dirt is different. Ours is sandy. •There are different kinds of animals, and these animals act differently.

Cooper, Sydney, Madison, and Ty found a ladybug, a yellow flower, a tree, and a stink bug.

Hayden, Conner, Elizabeth, Mikaela, and Mason found grass, basil, a piece of wood, a bush, and a butterfly.

Cassidy, Marissa, Isabella, and Dylan found pine straw, a small tree, dirt, grass, and a stick.

Liam, Lily, Maddox, and Caleb found an ant, grass, a stick, basil, and sand.
