Eye Care and Tzeltal Translation We want to congratulate the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) Leadership Team from El Sol, El Cultivo y La Tierra for its effort, dedication and health care contributions. Thanks to its hard work, more than 200 workers and their families received eye exams, plus prescription glasses as needed—an incredible project that will benefit their daily lives. “They are constantly motivated by the results they have accomplished. We invite other teams that join EFI to realize their full potential like this team in Vizcaino,” said Loreli Avila, Human Resources Manager at the farm. “If a team wants to reach their potential, each member must be willing to set aside their personal goals and work together towards a common vision so that everyone can shine,” she added. EFI Updates l We welcome a new Leadership Team to the EFI family: Distribuidora Comercializadora Olmos (DCO) Agrícola from San Quintín, Mexico. l Around 40 Leadership Team members from farming operations in the San Quintin Valley of Mexico reunited last month to share their challenges and successes. These joint sessions are a great way to further collaboration and support among EFI- trained teams. l Congratulations to Importaciones Mundiales, Alpine Fresh Inc.’s Guatemalan farm, on its certification! IPM practices minimize the use of chemicals and focus on the use of natural and low-toxicity methods to reduce risks for workers, consumers and the land. IPM is the basis for all pest management decisions on EFI-certified farms. Our standards require that all pesticide use and associated risks to farmworkers be recorded, and that work safety protocols are practiced. Eye Care and Tzeltal TranslationWe want to congratulate the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) Leadership Team from El Sol, El Cultivo y La Tierra for its effort, dedication and health care contributions. Thanks to its hard work, more than 200 workers and their families received eye exams, plus prescription glasses as needed—an incredible project that will benefit their daily lives.
