EXTRUSIONS Our extrusions department has hundreds of custom and standard profiles. If the cross section you require is not illustrated in this section, our engineering staff can design a die and specify a material tomeet your requirements. EXTRUSIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN MOST RUBBER COMPOUNDS: Neoprene, EPDM, Natural Rubber, Styrene Butadiene (SBR), Butyl, Silicone, Nitrile, Viton Many common rubber products are made using the extrusion process, such as tubing, solid, round and rectangular shapes. Extrusions normally are not a stock item, but are produced to a customer specification from custom or standard dies. Tubing Solid Core Dimensional Bulb Seals Channel The profile dimensions are obtained using specific compounds and hardness’s. Dies may have to be custom built to obtain a specific dimension for a required durometer and compound. STANDARDS FOR EXTRUSION CROSS SECTIONAL TOLERANCES The tolerances listed here are for outside (OD) diameters, inside (ID) diameters, wall thickness, width, height, and general cross sectional dimensions of extrusions. The tables below are intended only as a guideline to the tolerance capabilities of our manufacturing equipment. For a special exacting requirement, samples are recommended prior to manufacturing. The Rubber Manufacturers’ Association divides the compounds into two groups according to hardness and tensile and further designates the tolerances "Precision", "Commercial" and "Non-Critical". Unless otherwise specified, all extrusions are manufactured to the "Non-Critical" tolerances listed. TUBING Extruded tubing is available in a wide variety of compounds and sizes. Custom dies can be made to manufacture tubing to dimensions not listed. If the tubing required is not in the table, contact our sales department for design and material recommendations.

EXTRUSIONS DOCK FENDERS Extruded and custom-built fenders are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes for land marine applications.

APPLICATIONS: Marine dock fenders, piers, dolphins Bumpers on tug boats, barges, and boats Industrial loading ramps Box bumpers for trucks, vans and trailers

D-SHAPE AND WING TYPE These are common on industrial applications such as truck and van bumpers, and the larger sizes are popular on tugs and barges.

RECTANGULAR The rectangular fenders are often used where a rigid mounting is required such as on tug boats or where tidal conditions are not a factor. They are also used in combination with wood facings on light concrete structures where the load to the structure must be kept low.

CYLINDRICAL The cylindrical fender is normally used where tidal conditions exist and a flexible mounting is necessary. These fenders are usually suspended on a chain for easy installation.

TRAPEZOIDAL The trapezoidal design makes the most efficient use of the natural elasticity of rubber. Therefore, smaller sections of trapezoidal fenders will absorb a greater amount of impact than similar fenders of a different cross section. These fenders can be used with or without wood.
