Colonized Fields Competition Date: 2011Location: Kirchheim b. München, Germany Honorable Mention with: Enric Dulsat/Pol Jordà/Lluís Jordà

Colonized Fields is a strategic distribution of the space and landscape that works as a link between agriculture and urban scenery. The main aim is to join together systems, whether natural or artifi cial. Is not looking for a new centrality or identity, unders-tands the context and local structures and by integrating it to these exising features creates some new regulations and covenants to the areas to restore, relate and revita-

lize them.

Erweiterung FOS/BOS Kaufbeuren school extension Competition Date: 2011Location: Kaufbeuren, Germany Finalist with: Enric Carol/Gerard Carreras/Enric Dulsat/Marc Fabrès/Pol Jordà/Lluís Jordà

This proposal is modeled on a living being, conceived as a prototypical mix of indus-trial and school buildings which is always producing and changing. With interplay of space, light, shadow and transparency, we aim to limitless architecture, that acts as a transition between areas. Exchange fl ows with its surroundings ensure that we can design near zero energy consumption buil-dings. This system also allows for exten-sions or reductions in the future, and could

change its use in case of new necessities.

E(co)stratègia. “16 Portes de Collserola” Competition Date: 2012Location: Barcelona, Spain 1st Prize with: Enric Dulsat/Marc Fabrés/Pol Jordà/Lluís Jordà/Laura Solà

The competition was about rethinking the border between the natural park of Collse-rola and the City of Barcelona. The area is located in the north side, which is one of the main entrances by car of the city. All these highway lanes have fragmented the ur-ban weave and isolated the neighborhood of la Trinitat from the city. At the same time the green spaces system has been broken up by the road system and lost its fl ow. Our concept aims to defi ne the edge between the city and the mountains as a surface, a space occupied by domesticated fi elds, a place between nature and city where you can fi nd community vegetable gardens, and open air green spaces. The other part of the proposal was to recover the fl ow of the green spaces system of Barcelona metropoli-tan area, connecting the Collserola natural park with Besòs river and Serra Marina, the mountain system on the other side of the hi-ghway. Recovering the valley section of the place and getting a stronger and continuous

ecosystem.

The building geometry is the result of a program analysis and urban context. It has to be clear, easy, undersatandable and in-tuitive for the users. The program it has been divided according to the privacity de-gree required, and articulated by the main hall at the ground fl oor, leaving the extro-vert space at the -1 fl oor as an extention of the public space, meanwhile the introspec-tive space (general collection and offi ces) remain high ground in a tate of levitation and refl ection.

Harmonia 57 Professional Date: 2008Location: Sao Paulo, Brasil Collaborator Studio: Triptyque Architects

This studio is built in the heart of an ar-tists’ neighborhood in São Paulo. Located in a fl ood zone, its construction offered se-veral challenges. The building is designed as a manufactured object, a living body in constant change; it breathes, sweats, ages and regenerates. The water is the main element of this pro-ject: rain and ground water are treated and reused through a complex system whose low tech elements such as the pipes, pumps, au-tomatic irrigation, etc., are highlighted, forming a sort of protective shell around the building. The heart of the project is thus exposed on its façade. The building appears to have been designed inside out. By contrast, the interior is sleek and mi-nimalist.

Pipe Light installation Professional Date: 2008Location: Sao Paulo, Brasil Collaborator Studio: Triptyque Architects

The Pipelight lighting system was created in the image of a living organism, a wild ivy that invades all parts of the house and turns into a bridge between art and design. This inspiration feeds on darkness.

This installation was the result of an in-vitation issued by designer Houssein Ja-rouche, for an abandoned lot next to his showroom, Micasa.

These lanterns were also used in the pro-ject of a nightclub called “Museum”. Later on, they acquired a life of their own by becoming a product, edited by Micasa, “Wall Lamps”.

La Cabanya nursery Professional Date: 2010Location: Torelló, Spain Collaborator Studio: Taller SAU

The approach to the nursery is on the basis of the land surface separated from the urban park of the same name. This place is chosen because is slighty higher than the eleva-tion level of the rest of the park so the equipment has views of its surroundings.

The program is laid out in three intertwined parts: space for classrooms, management and services, and space for multiple use.

The multiple use space is the main point of the project. It will allow uses like dinning room, winter courtyard, performance hall… At the same time, acts as distributor and receiver / control point of the building.

The roof of this space is totally oriented to south in order to implement a signifi cant number of solar panels while getting the light form the north.

Train Storage Professional Date: 2009Location: Ribes de Freser, Spain Collaborator Studio: Taller SAU

This Train Store in Ribes de Freser (Giro-na, Spain), was conceived in order to solve the climatic problems of the station and to shelter the railrack trains from vandalism. With this aim this big and diaphanous volu-me was realized. A three dimension metallic dry construction structure thought to be built without affecting the normal timeta-ble of the train route. The roof is designed to be a solar energy collector covering all its south faced slopes with photovoltaic panels. Horitzontallity and the use of re-fl ecting and transparent materials integra-tes the building in the landscape decrea-sing the visual impact of this big volume.
