What an Experience!

Our annual prospecve member weekend was held March 1 - 3, with 180 invited guests, sponsoring and parcipang members in aendance. The purpose of this special “by invitaon only” event is to introduce potenal members and home buyers to all that makes Indian Ridge Country Club such a special place to live and play. Guests were able to “Experience Indian Ridge” by meeng our members and staff and immersing themselves in a full schedule of acvies and events over the course of three excing days. Friday evening, the Club hosted an interacve Pickleball Exhibion, played by 4 of our Valley’s top Pickleball champions followed by a Mardi Gras themed party. Saturday’s events included: Club tours, fitness classes, tennis, Pickleball, a gourmet lunch, personalized golf ps from our pros, fascial stretch sessions on the range, aernoon golf on the Arroyo course and open house tours. The highlight of the evening was a “Love Boat” themed poolside party. “Captain Stubing” himself, Gavin MacLeod, was our guest of honor, vising with our guests and talking about his life and his book.

The weekend was made complete with a Sunday sunrise breakfast, a beauful morning hike at the Coachella Valley Preserve, golf on the Grove golf course and another aernoon touring open houses. The aernoon was topped off with a Chef-inspired lunch event at the main clubhouse.

The success of this event has been tremendous! Our next Experience Indian Ridge event is scheduled for February 28 – March 1, 2020. Indian Ridge members are encouraged to invite their friends who are acvely looking to buy a home and join a private club in the Valley.

Indian Ridge – Cutting Edge of Performance

Having a good day on the golf course feels great! Do you aspire to being a beer golfer? Are you achieving the improvement you desire?

Introducing the state-of-the-art, indoor Golf Performance Center at Indian Ridge Country Club. Members, their families and friends have a unique opportunity to access a training facility that only a small percentage of country clubs in the world can boast. Priceless!

The indoor Golf Performance Center at Indian Ridge opened in November 2018 and epitomizes the pursuit of the ulmate golf experience at the Club. Summer is quickly approaching. As we wind down another excing season at Indian Ridge Country Club, I hope you will agree with me that 2019 was the Best Ever Indian Ridge Member Experience. This season we experienced many firsts, including more precipitaon than usual, which affected some of our playme, but it did make our courses and grounds even more beauful and lush.

As this season’s Club President, I had the honor to work with a dedicated and enthusiasc staff, headed by our General Manager Hall Wade. I appreciated the forward thinking and strategic planning by our Board, staff and Commiees, furthering the vision of our Club. We connue to work closely with the HOA/PUD Boards and the Community Planning Commiee to maintain the community’s unified approach, all leading to connued financial stability and sustainability.

Indian Ridge has enjoyed exceponal member growth over the last several years. That growth, combined with strong home sales, has put the Club in an extremely solid financial posion, enabling us to achieve the goals the Board established for the 2018-19 season.

I hope you were able to enjoy many of the new addions to an already excing social and acve calendar, including:

The new indoor high-tech Golf Performance Center on the south Range, featuring a teaching and club fing facility, along with a second short game pracce area near Grove 15. We opened up new opportunies for our men and women golfers to meet new members and become involved with more groups. Beaufully expanded Health & Fitness Center with state-of-the-art cardio equipment, Pilates studio with reformers, mul-purpose spin studio and more fitness classes, instructors and trainers - by far one of the best offerings in the Valley. Newly expanded and remodeled Spa treatment areas in both the hair and nail salons. Indian Ridge connues to offer numerous social events and acvies for every membership level: exceponal dining experiences (theme nights, wine dinners, Friday sunset socials), discussion and card groups, Pickle and bocce ball, tennis, Concert on the Green and more. The opportunies and choices connue to provide endless fun.

I feel very fortunate to live in such a wonderful Club that is thriving with new and exisng members. Indian Ridge has created an environment that is warm and inving, always striving to connect new members with tenured members. We are, and connue to be, one of the most sought-a¡er golf and lifestyle communies in the Valley.

I wish everyone a safe and happy summer. My husband Jim and I cannot wait to see what excing adventures await us when we return in November for the 2019-20 season.

Making Fitness and Relaxation a Priority

Due to the expansion and makeover of the Health & Fitness Center and The SPA, we now have amazing facilies for members and guests to enjoy!

Under the direcon of Fitness Director Chet Sheehan and General Manager Hall Wade, we reconfigured our aerobics program and facilies to offer a wide variety of group classes, totaling 45 a week. There is truly something for everyone, including Reformer Pilates with 6 instructors offering 19 weekly classes and 13 Spin classes each week. Stretch, swim, spin, tap, Zumba or yoga your way to beer health this season! We have 3 male and 3 female trainers on staff for personalized training.

We doubled the size of our gym and created a 32-foot floor work/stretch area to work with balls, free weights and bars. We added all new TechnoGym cardio equipment with personal touch screen televisions. We have added 2 Peloton Spin Bikes and also created a funconal wall with TRX suspension trainers along with 2 Kinesis One Cable machines.

During the season, we held 12 health and fitness lectures, and Chet led 18 hikes plus several desert walks. Grab your hiking boots and poles and join the fun with our hiking group!

The SPA has a team of skilled massage specialists, offering such luxurious services as bamboo, Thai and hot stone massage plus scrub and body treatments. Beauty services provided include facials, peels, microdermabrasion, micro-planing, collagen masks, eye and lip treatments, waxing, manicures, pedicures, gel mani/pedis and a full menu of hair services. Throughout the season, The SPA and hair salon offered popular events, where members were treated to complimentary services and ‘hands on’ workshop experiences. The SPA also added a new line, Oribe, which has become very popular with members.

Concert on the Green

Our annual Concert on the Green event hosted more than 500 members and guests who enjoyed al fresco buffet dinner and a fun evening of music and dancing on our expansive north Driving Range. The Zippers, naonally known cover band, rocked the night with their awesome rendions and variety of hit songs. The beauful mountain background set the mood and added to the overall ambiance of the evening.

Halloween Spooktacular

This year, our members outdid themselves with hilarious and original costumes! Halloween is a holiday of pure fun, magic and a lile bit of mischief. This is one of our members’ favorite pares! Where else can you dress up in costumes, eat candy corn and enjoy a tasty Witches’ Brew at the Arroyo Grille?

A Season of Pares

The Indian Ridge Country Club events are what sets us apart! Our outstanding opening weekend in November offered two nights of dining and dancing. From awesome entertainment to a special Chef-created dinner, each night was met with rave reviews!

We celebrated New Year’s Eve with elegant décor, champagne and a midnight balloon drop! Once again our event planners outdid themselves with entertainment and formal dining. The January celebraons connued with our hilarious and well-aended Comedy Night and Trivia Night.

The 2018-2019 season has been a non-stop example of wonderful events at Indian Ridge.

Cooking with Chef

This season we added a delighully interacve new event - Cooking with Chef. Execuve Chef Chris Mitchum showcased and prepared three delicious recipes. The members’ quesons and Chef’s “ps” were followed up with tasngs of each dish for everyone. It was a wonderful way to spend an aernoon!

Three Times the Fun

Our annual Bogeys & Faults event has progressed into a Bogeys, Dinks & Faults Challenge! This is a friendly compeon across 3 sports: golf, Pickleball and tennis. We had 28 parcipants, with some new members having the chance to meet other sports enthusiasts. The group went on to a “19th Hole” party in the clubhouse. What a fun event!

New Member Mixers

A great me was had by all who aended the 2018-2019 New Member Mixers. The themes were fun and creave, with a Tailgate-themed mixer that “kicked-off” the beginning of the season in November. The various themes during the year included: Ugly Holiday Sweater, 80’s Neon, Top Gun and a Carnival inspired bocce ball mixer that concluded the season in a fesve and youthful way.

House Walk - Exploring Renovaons

January’s House Walk was the perfect way for our homeowners and members to find inspiraon. This annual event showcases recently remodeled and renovated Indian Ridge homes and landscaping. Members and guests toured the community homes and were able to speak to the homeowners about the changes that were made.

Pickleball at The Ridge Making a DifferenceScholarship Fund Connues to Make a Difference for Indian Ridge Employees

This was a banner season for the Indian Ridge Scholarship Fund! Through the generosity of Indian Ridge members, the Fund raised more than $250,000 for college scholarships for 26 of the Club’s employees and their children.

The Fund’s “Make a Difference” Weekend included a Casino Night, a golf tournament and a luncheon. Many of this year’s scholarship recipients aended the luncheon with their parents.

Two sons of Gustavo Cid, a groundskeeper in Golf Course Maintenance, were among the speakers. Cesar Cid graduated this past June from the University of California Santa Cruz and is working as a markeng coordinator for a real estate property management firm in Palm Springs.

Luis Cid is a junior at California State University San Bernardino (Palm Desert campus), majoring in communicaons and planning to intern at a local radio staon. Luis and Cesar both spoke about how much the scholarships meant to them and enabled them to pursue their dreams. Cesar shows off his diploma in the photo.

The Indian Ridge Scholarship Fund was founded in 2012 and has grown steadily. This year the Fund is providing college scholarships to 26 recipients: 13 returning students and 13 new students. Most of the students are the first in their families to aend college.

The Fund is a great way for Indian Ridge Country Club members to show our amazing staff how much we appreciate them. We are indeed making a difference in the lives of our employees and their families.

Pickleball at The Ridge – Oh, how it’s grown!

Pickleball has grown tremendously in the Desert in the last several years, and it is no different at Indian Ridge. What started with a few casual friends playing on paddle ball courts has turned into a full league Pickleball sport at the Club. We upgraded those paddle ball courts to Pickleball courts, and a wonderful passion for many members was born.

Pickleball at Indian Ridge was officially launched during the 2015-16 season. Courts were transioned, and organized play began. Indian Ridge now offers 7 full Pickleball courts, league play, organized matches, special events and Valley Interclub play.

Organizer Rod Smith, also known as Mr. Pickleball, welcomes all levels of players.

“There are many first mers and newbies that come in and play, and we have a Saturday morning welcome clinic for each one. Every Saturday morning, we typically have 6 or more people coming to play Pickleball for the first me. Pickleball is easy to learn and not as demanding as tennis. You can play one game in as lile as 15 minutes, making it easy to fit into your schedule,” said Rod.

“What started as a handful of guys in 1965 has turned into a game with 2-3 million players. The Coachella Valley is a mecca for Pickleball.”

Indian Ridge has a full calendar of Pickleball events for the season. This is the 4th season for Interclub play. With approximately 12 other clubs in the valley that parcipate, Indian Ridge plays 2 different clubs each month during high season. For those who enjoy heavier compeon, we also hold men’s, women’s and mixed doubles league play. Indian Ridge members parcipate in local and naonal tournaments, and our Club features several medal winners.

Whether you’re a new player, casual player, or completely devoted to Pickleball, Indian Ridge offers every member the opportunity to find their niche in the sport.

Connued from page 1: Indian Ridge – Cung Edge of Performance

The Performance Center achieved its design intent of being aesthecally pleasing, nestled into the hillsides on the south Range, surrounded by large bouldering and lush landscaping. Members drive right up to the entrance on a circular cart path to a warm and inving private instrucon environment one has to experience to fully appreciate. The Performance Center includes indoor and outdoor training areas with an aracve private sand bunker and

pung green for enhancing scoring skills. Inside the Center you’ll find a single bay, indoor teaching and club fing facility to hit shots out to our Driving Range to view real ball flight, and our Pros can incorporate TRX Suspension Training and TPI (Titleist Performance Instute) golf fitness drills. With high-speed internet access, instruconal sessions include online teaching technology, and members are emailed private video lesson libraries for their personal review.

The new indoor Golf Performance Center at Indian Ridge is truly the ulmate instruconal experience! As we say, “game improvement equals game enjoyment.” Join us at the Club while golf memberships are sll available!

If “a picture is worth a thousand words,” what is the value of 4 high-speed cameras, high-speed high-definion video, replayed frame by frame on dual oversized cu¡ng edge touch screen monitors analyzed for you and with you by the Golf Professional Staff at Indian Ridge? Priceless!

The indoor Golf Performance Center at Indian Ridge opened in November 2018 and epitomizes the pursuit of the ulmate golf experience at the Club. It was one of the final pieces of a vision to bring great golf to our members. The essence of the golf experience at Indian Ridge is our two world-class Arnold Palmer Signature golf courses meculously maintained to absolutely rave reviews by members and guests. Complemenng the courses is an oversized, double-sided Driving Range, two expansive pracce pu¡ng greens, and two recently added Short Game Pracce facilies – one developed for shots inside 35 yards and one allowing shots up to 70 yards – and a new Players Pavilion to e it all together. There is a teaching facility on both the north and south sides of the Range due to our acve lesson program as members strive for excellence and enjoyment of their golf games.

Aer only five months of members experiencing the benefits of the Performance Center, our seven Golf Professionals share 6-7 hours a day assisng members in this state-of-the-art facility. Connued on page 7
